For those of you willing to look beyond Northern California for wine, Los Angeles magazine suggests heading to Oregon's burgeoning wine scene in Dundee, where the Erath and Archery Summit vineyards are located.
Located just outside Portland, Dundee is home to the Black Walnut Inn which offers panoramic views of Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, Willamette Valley & other vineyards. Rates range from $180 to $335.
There's about 200 vineyards total in the area, complete with "ample signage" for a Sideways-style adventure. But if you get sick of or from wine tasting, the only other things to do nearby is a hot air balloon ride or the Evergreen Aviation Museum. ]]>
