They might look to &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotels/city/us/FL/Amelia%20Island&#x22;&#x3E;&#x3C;b&#x3E;Amelia Island&#x3C;/b&#x3E;&#x3C;/a&#x3E; off the coast of northeastern Florida for their escape route.&#x3C;/p&#x3E; &#x3C;p&#x3E;That&#x26;#146;s because seven island hotels have &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28392128/&#x22;&#x3E;unveiled discounts&#x3C;/a&#x3E; just for residents of the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland, good Jan. 18 through Jan. 22. And unlike those Washington hotels jacking up their prices in the name of democracy, Amelia Island&#x26;#146;s rates are actually affordable. Plus, it&#x26;#146;s warm there.
