As we write this, Britney Spears has probably checked in and out of yet another hotel but we'll do our best to keep you posted on her whereabouts. You know, in case you wanna compliment her on how crappy her comeback video is for "Gimme More."
Last we heard of Brit Brit she was causing a scene at the Peninsula Beverly Hills. But after one day there she shacked up at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire and left the next day. Now TMZ is reporting that Britney did a wham, bam, thank you mam stop at the Viceroy Hotel.
Spears hightailed it to the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica, bringing her brand of crazazy for yet another panicked hospitality staff to enjoy.
Sources tell TMZ that Brit left the hotel with an unknown man in a white Lamborghini just before 2:00 AM, though it's not clear if she returned.
This is crazy for any celeb blowing into town--three nights, three different hotels--but Britney has a home in Malibu that she could be hanging out at. Or at K-Fed's place in the valley where her kids are. All this brings us to ask the question--is Britney secretly a hotel reviewer?
Alright so it wasn't solely because of John Mayer but his recent appearance at the Sofitel Los Angeles with a new girlfriend Minka Kelly in tow reminded us that this renovated hotspot needed a listing on the HotelChatter Hollywood Hotel Map.
Also thanks to our recent spotting of the Sopranos cast as well as a Conchord (Jemaine Clement), the Sofitel LA has well-earned the #17 position.
We're a big fan of the place from a hotel standpoint. The renovations were pretty striking and the room reviews are solid. Plus, the place has a happening lounge scene at Stone Rose and an excellent restaurant, Simon LA.
Whether it was good enough for John Mayer and friend, we aren't sure. The stalkerazzi spotted the duo later at the Sunset Marquis--star map stop #13. John was also once a fan of the Four Seasons hotel (star map stop #9) as he squired Jessica Simpson there last year.
Scandal Rating: Medium.
Witnessed a semi scandalous Hollywood hotel scene? Talk.
This year, HotelChatter launched its first ever Google mash-up maps. Three to be exact and each map had a stand-out hotel we are awarding as the All-Star Hotel.
On the Hollywood Hotel Star Map, the Hollywood Roosevelt stands out because its celebrity scene has been off the hook since the day it opened. Then this year the whole Amanda Scheer-Demme fiasco happened. But even when her VIP club Teddy's reopened again without her, celebs still flocked to the place.
When it came to do a map for NYC, we chose only the downtown hotels because let's face it, who wants to stay in Midtown? The All-Star here is The Hotel on Rivington or THOR. How could we ignore the hash-hammock suggestion from the "Director of Luminous Detail" Nemo Librizzi? Then we found out from our Super Secret Insider that I-bankers are worse guests than touring rock stars. The hotel also rounded out its year by opening up a members-only lounge, the restaurant and the eclectic boutique Annie O. Of course, how could we forget the place has see-through shower windows?
On the Viva Las Vegas map, picking an all-star was difficult because all of the high roller hotels in Vegas we profiled are big stand-outs. But we're going to go with THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. The Alain Ducasse restaurant on the top floor is superb and the strip views are unbeatable. When you venture outside of this boutique hotel within a hotel, hit up the pool area where an employee named Moses is in charge of parting the water at the giant water park.
Yesterday, our baby bro Jaunted unveiled the first-ever Jaunted Parking Guide, picking Los Angeles to be the inaugural city. Well, not long after it went up, a parking tip came rolling in about how park-friendly the Raffles L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills is.
In case you need some background on the Raffles, Angelina likes to stash her kinky toys and clothes here and before her and Poppa Pitt went all around the world saving and having children, she would always bring her new lovers here for a quickie. Also, the Raffles is where Angelina's mom lives. (Go figure.)
Anyways, here's the parking scoop:
Meeting for drinks at a fancy hotel is a very LA thing to do. Most hit you hard with valet or take a few bucks off the tab. Little known secret: the top hotel in Beverly Hills (we're talking five star/five diamond) with a stellar crowd does not charge at all for folks drinking at their bar or dining in their restaurant. Plus you'll get points from your guests for taking them to a classy place with no tourists. Where: Raffles L'Ermitage on Burton Way in Beverly Hills. Their Writers Bar and Living Room have lots of seating areas and you can actually have a conversation without shouting.
The Writer's Bar is exactly what the name conveys except in this town "writer" means screenplay writer and the walls of the bar are adorned with scripts and the names of those who wrote them.
Our tipster also reveals that smokers have a little outside area and that frozen maragaritas are out of the question since the bars don't have blenders as a way to keep down the noise.
Whatta classy place. No blenders, outside area for smokers and best of all, free parking.
The reason being is because we were flipping through this notorious tabloid over the weekend (it was mysteriously dropped off at our front door and was in no way an impulse buy at the 10 items or less express check-out line at the grocery store) and we noticed that in the "Hollywood After Dark" gossip column* of the six items, four of them took place at the Marmont.
We have: · Courtney Love repeatedly hugging a doorman on October 3. · Geoffrey Rush ("Pirates of the Caribbean") that same day drinking with strangers while Nicolette Sheridan was dining with two guys and a girl (no pizza shop though.) · Lucy Liu bumping into a waiter on Oct. 5 and almost knocking food off his tray · Harry Morton, Lindsay Lohan's ex, arriving late at night on Oct. 7 perhaps to visit Lindsay.
The other two items were something about a Madden twin from Good Charlotte and Nicky Hilton's bday at club Arena.
We sincerely doubt Andre Balazs or his people are behind any of these items, so perhaps its about time for them to investigate the hotel's nooks and crannies for Enquirer reporters. That or figure out which staffer has been showing up in some new duds, wearing a new watch and driving a new car.
The Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles got a boost again to their Scandal Rating. Despite the fact that it was publicity hungry Jessica Simpson and her PR boyfriend John Mayer, we're still upping the hotel's celeb cred:
The "Dukes of Hazzard" star and the singer-songwriter were reunited at the posh Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday night just weeks after breaking up. Jessica - who arrived at the bar with her producer Romeo Antonio - was having a drink when John turned up.
According to TMZ, after a brief conversation - in which John reportedly asked Jessica whether or not there "was anything going on" between her and Romeo - John led her to the elevator and they disappeared upstairs.
A recent review of the place claims that unless you're famous, you won't be getting the royal treatment at the Four Seasons.
Although in our minds it is debatable whether or not Jessica Simpson is worthy of her fame, we're guessing the hotel pulled out all the stops for the faux love-birds.
It pains us to have to write about yet another celebrity filled night at the Chateau Marmont, but this one differs in that the hotel actually underwent a bit of a costume change for the release party of "Marie Antoinette"--the new film by Sophia Coppola, starring Kirsten "Vampire Teeth" Dunst.
Styles and Scenes of the LA Times reports that the lobby was cleared out and decorated with set costumes and props from the movie:
The Chateau was transformed into a tiny Versailles with a ballroom, crystal chandeliers, Louis XIV chairs, period rugs, huge gilded mirrors and bouquets of pink roses/ gardenias.
Perrier Jouet was flowing and a decadent dessert banquet was piled with white chocolate boxes containing tiny berries, pastel-colored French macaroons, meringue, tarts, pink and lavender cupcakes and petite cotton candy.
Owner Andre Balazs went on to say that the other time the hotel cleared out the hotel lobby was for Sophia's 17th birthday.
Also spotted in attendance at the party were Dunst's co-star Jason Schwartzman, Orlando Bloom, Penelope Cruz, Will Ferrell, Courtney Love, Mischa Barton, Drew Barrymore and the Strokes.
We wonder if Lindsay Lohan was spying from the hotel staircase?
While his soon-to-be ex-wife Kate Hudson is thinking about riding the Butterscotch Stallion aka Owen Wilson, Chris Robinson is mending his broken heart while crashing at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, so says Us Weekly.
Number 13 on the HotelChatter Hollywood Star Map, this hotel has been known to host a few broken hearts, most recently Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston in their first few months as divorcees.
But coincidentally, the hotel is a fave of Owen's as well, as he once revealed in an interview:
When we were shooting Bottle Rocket we were living at the Sunset Marquis and that was the real hot spot with the Whiskey Bar, they had really pretty waitresses. Even though we were staying at the hotel sometimes the bouncer wouldn't even let us in. We would always have to have our key to show them. Those bouncers will drive you crazy.
It's pretty obvious that now Owen doesn't even need those bouncers to get ass. But sorry Chris, he's got your woman and your hotel.
