In the mood for something a little more casual? The happy hour menu at Japanese fusion Katana (across from the Mondrian) is a real deal with real great views as well. Or for really casual, just get a burger and fries at Mel’s Diner. The home-cookin’ and hard cocktails at Saddle Ranch bar and restaurant are famous, so stop in there before ambling farther west on Sunset and perusing the fancy shops like Dolce & Gabbana and BCBG.
Check out the swank stores and eateries of the upscale Sunset Plaza, shopping center where there’s great people watching at Caffe Primo and a place to work off your vacation diet at the Equinox Fitness Center. There’s also an H&M for any quick, inexpensive purchases you might need to make before a dinner out at that Kardashian sisters favorite, Ketchup.
Use the restroom before you go, because after dinner, you’ll be getting in line to see some of the latest, greatest live bands at the Viper Room and Whiskey A Go Go.
Then for a little late night snack session, either stop at Cristoni’s Pizza on your walk back to the hotel, in the same shopping center where you’ll find a Kinko’s for any work needs that might come up. Or keep going on Sunset, past the Standard, almost to Crescent Heights for the best tacos around at the peppily pink Pinches Tacos. If you’re too late for those, dial up Pink Dot grocery delivery for some munchies before bed, and another day of star-sightings.
