Partner Reviews: Wyndham Chicago
this place sucks
What a disappointment. The hotel was extremely dirty and misleading. At best this is a 2 star hotel. Body fluids left on bedding/old dried out carrots in the fridge. A view of a brick wall, not to mention the torn lamp shades, dust and grime. Th hotel restaurant was voted best in the city, 10 years ago!! The cheesecart has been gone for 5 years, probably the last time they cleaned. Upon returning from our "vacation" we left our luggage outside until we could wash everything, I was concerned of bedbugs. What a dump. The worst hotel ever for a price of over $250 per night, and we are from Detroit. Spend the extra $20 and stay at the Drake. The staff is trained to lie and mislead their customers and really dont care if you are happy or not. Based on this visit I WOULD NEVER EVER VISIT CHICAGO OR ANY WYNDHAM AGAIN. If you dont take my advise, stop by the Capital Grill for another gouging. What a terrible experience.
Great location and customer service!
The Wyndham Chicago is truly in one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. It is within walking distance to almost all tourist attractions (Warning -we are New Yorkers so our idea of walking distance may be greater than yours!), extremely clean, and well worth the money. We arrived at noon (3 hours early) and our room was ready. We were taken to our room on the 17th floor (top floor) which had a great view of the city. Room was clean, nothing extremely fancy, but had all of the necessary amenities. We immediately went to the concierge desk to ask for a lunch recommendation. The concierge on duty, Katie, was great. She gave us several recommendations as well as a map and guide to the city. She also gave us a pamphlet for the Chicago Jazz Festival. Later that weekend we also had wonderful service from a concierge named Russell. He gave us a special pass for Gino's pizza that we skipped the line and went right in! He also gave us the key to the minibar so that we may keep our leftovers in there. He made us a feel like family and whenever we passed the desk said hello and asked if we were still full from our pizza! The Wyndham is truly a gem of a hotel with wonderful service in a great location. We would recommend it to anyone.
love it
My Husband and I started staying at the Wyndham Chicago for our Honeymoon. We loved it so much that every year on our anniversary we go back and stay. We also take our daughter for the lighting of Michigan Ave. We do the American Girl Doll Package. She looks so forward to it every year. We also look forward to our romantic anniversary stays at Wyndam they always treat us like royalty.
Accomodating and not too expensive
I stayed at the Wyndham over the holidays and I was really impressed with the service. We were checked in and out without any complications, room service came on time and still hot, all of our questions were answered quickly and politely. The room was very nice, the bed was HUGE and they gave us a room on a higher floor just like we requested. The prices were very affordable, especially for the great location. The only drawbacks were that the TV check-out didn't work and the room service guy came back to get the dishes almost too quickly. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
GREAT VALUE
I am a byrequest member I stay at the wyndam 3 or 4 times a year, always find great value, service and overall good experience.I have stayed at 15 or 20 other hotels some better, some worse but the price and what you get are always great at this hotel.
