Our stay this past week was a complete joy. The Walk About Beach Resort was our favorite part of our Florida trip. My friends found this hotel online and were quickly convinced it was a good choice for us...we were looking for a small low key, unique beachfront property. This property is located right on the beach. The Tiki Bar and sand are literally steps from your front door. The Walk About was immaculately clean and very quiet. It did livin' up in the evenings and had a great vibe on the weekend with live music. The rooms were huge, uncluttered and stylish. Not having a telephone and clock in the room added to our relaxation. We chose the Tower Suites that had phenomenal views, we were on the second floor and could see all the action at the Tiki Bar and beach just by stepping out our front door. The Walkabout is close to good restuarants, and many attractions. Any other activity that we chose offered to pick us up so having a car was completely unnecessary. Tamara's recommendations were great and enhanced our stay. We highly recommend Goirgio's Bakery for any meal with great views of the intercoastal. The staff was acommodating in everyway, we very much at home and very welcome. Tamara the property manager gave us some insight of the properties history which just added to the value and character. I travel with work and have stayed in many great places throughout the states. If you enjoy simplicity, class, and quiet the Walk About Beach Resort And Tiki Bar would be my top recommendation. Lovely Boutique Resort
I can say enough about this place! Where to begin....the staff was great very accomodating in every way. We were greeted by the manager (Tamara) who by the way has a very cool 3 legged Beagle who will melt your heart. She gave us the low down on the area everything is within walking distance. The property is amazing and very well kept. The rooms are tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. We had an amazing oceanview and the beach was simply heaven on earth. The Tiki Bar had a nice mix of folks from the local area to tourists from all over the country. There was a couple from Poland that were very memorable. was a nice mix. The live music on the weekends will have you thinking you're sitting in the keys but Hollywood and the broadwalk have much more to offer. The Walk About Beach Resort is truly a unique place one I would highly recommend to all visiting the Hollywood/Ft lauderdale area.

You never know what you're going to get when looking for places through the internet. The Walk About Resort and Tiki Bar is exactly what you see on the websight and MORE! The staff is incredible, more than accommodating in every aspect of our stay. The rooms are impecable in style and cleanliness. The location is perfect beachfront and the water was to die for. We had a blast at the Tiki bar listening to live music all weekend long. They had the best 4th of July specials on the broadwalk and we took full advantage. My kids could skate, ride bikes, play on the beach all day and we always had peace of mind with all the other families enjoying the holiday weekend. The fireworks were incredible....I can't rave enough about this place. A special thanks to the entire staff....they were great! I've booked my family for Labor Day and over the Christmas holiday...can't wait to get back.
Unforgettable and Unique
I've never written a review but thought this unique Boutique Resort needed a honorable mention. We had originally planned to stay at the Marriot next door which is nice and situated next door to the Walk About. In fact we thought it was the same place. We wondered over to the Walk About and the sign on the office door reads "if not in office head out to the Tiki Bar. The manager who was also doubling as the bartender took us up to a suite on the second floor. WOW what a pleasant surprise....the room was enourmous and the view was to die for. We were sold...checked in and spent the next 4 days enjoying every minute of our stay. Morning java as the sun came up with jazz playing in the background, relaxing with wine as the day ended locals and other visitors as if we were one big happy family and a sweet old 3 legged Beagle that made the place feel like home. If you are looking for a great little hideaway on the broadwalk, a good vibe feel you will truly enjoy this great little resort. Thanks for a great relaxing vacation we needed it.
Simply Perfect Resort
Had a great stay at the Walk About over Memorial Day weekend. My only complaint is the weather not not ideal at all times but the resort is the coolest place on the Boardwalk. The Tiki Bar rocks, from the bartenders to management we really enjoyed our stay. My apologies to the other guests our group tends to get a little rowdy at times but all in good fun. We stayed on the ground level which in turn was great to come and go as we pleased, the Tiki bar and beach are literally just out the front door. Live music all weekend long made us feel like we were in the Keys or on a tropical island. We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Walk About and we will certainly be back.
WOW WOW What a place!
Had a fantastic stay at the Wal About Beach Resort. The building has so much character and the rooms are very nice. The staff was exceptional. They had excellent suggestions for both restaurants and activities to do while in town. Very good location. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Boutique Resort on the Boardwalk in Hollywood Fl this is a fantastic find. I can't say that I have been to many hotels where I'd give them 5 out of 5 in every department. It's a great little boutique hotel steps from the beach. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, have free wifi, live entertainment, great deck chairs for early morning coffe and ocean view as well as evening wine oceanside. Everyone working there makes you feel very welcome. I especially liked the cleanliness of the hotel from the manicured courtyard patio, to the unbelievable ocean views everything was perfect. Two thumbs up from me. I wouldn't waste my time and money going to one of those 200 room hotels when there are great options such as this hotel.
Good times at the Walk About Beach Resort
I've never taken the time to write a review but thought The WalkAbout Beach Resort would be a good one to start with. You may hesitate at first we did...but once we saw the rooms we were smitten. The rooms are so clean and prestine with white decor and immpecable furnishings. Usually ocean view means hang your head around the corner and you may catch a glimpse of the water.....the view from #5 was amazing. We are a family of 4 and the Tower Suite was perfect. They have live music on the weekends so we set up our beach chairs beach side and could listen to music, people watch and keep an eye on the kids in the water. Lets not forget the cold ones from the Tiki Bar. Lots of activities and restaurants close by all within walking distance. The manager was always available with any questions we had but honorable mention goes to a 3 legged Beagle that hangs out at the property...our boys I'm sure drove him crazy but he took all in stride. I would recommend the Walk About to everybody, great little place we will surely return to! Mitchell Family Ohio
Coolest Place Ever!!!!
The Walk About Beach Resort is a great little hideaway on the Hollywood Broadwalk. We only intended to stay for the night and ended up staying almost a week. The rooms are immaculate, white linens with outstanding ocean views. The fun begins just steps from your frnt door at the Tiki Bar and the beach is just steps away. They had live entertainment all weekend long and the locals made us feel right at home. Management was always on hand and by the end of the week we felt like family on a first name basis. Restaurants are all within walking distance and the locals can recommend places in the area off the beat and path. There is alot of history at this place which certainly adds to it's character. The Walk About will be our getaway for many years to come..hopefully for us it will be the best kept secret in Hollywood but I have a feeling the secret is out and this is a place you don't want to miss.
