Excellent value

Rating: 8

I, my girlfriend and another couple stayed at the Grand Union for the whole dec. 6 - dec. 13 2003 week. Our quad room was actually two connected double rooms with bathroom in one room. Basic but very clean and quiet, everything (TV, refrigerator, heating...) working well. Small beds, but I'm over 6' so it's relative :-) Subway #6 just outside the door. For $150/day + taxes I think it was a very good deal.

Best Value in Town

Stayed in a huge room which slept my family of four. Marble bathroom was incredible. Great location for business, sightseeing and shopping. Very friendly staff. Prices can't be beat.

if you are looking for a cheap, no frills hotel, this would probably do. it looks old inside, is really small, and rooms only sleep two (there were three of us and one of us slept on the floor) but for $100 a night who really cares. it is right by the empire state building and some okay shopping. there is also a great bagel place around the corner and if you want to get a massage, the metamophosis spa is right around the corner too. also, there is only one elevator and to use the phone you need to put a $50 deposit down. but you get it right back at checkout. we spent most of our time outside the room anyway so it wasn't so bad.
