Excellent Food, Ambiance and Most Memorable Meeting in Nashville

Rating: 10

We recently had a corporate meeting at the Union Station Hotel for about 55 and they could not have been more accomodating and the food was excellent. The rooms have been recently remodeled in contemporary colors and the beds are so comfy. Not many hotels have the ambiance and include fireplaces in the meeting rooms. You might even be visited by one of the hotel "spirits" that frequent the place....they aren't destructive but they make their presence known, to be sure. If you are looking for a real "experience" and a very memorable meeting, the Union Station Hotel is for you.

Comfortable, luxurious room

Rating: 8

My husband and I patronized the hotel in August and had an extremely pleasant stay. The king-sized bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever been in, with the soft, high-thread count sheets and fluffiest comforter imaginable. The room was clean and sparsely decorated, comfortable and quiet. We were on the 7th floor in the front, and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the place was, yet enjoyed our view of Broadway at night. The bathroom was large and very clean, with marble floors and spacious sink areas. It would be a tight squeeze in the potty for someone of large stature, as the toilet was nestled between the window and a wall, but it was fine for us. Very close to all areas of interest downtown, but parking leaves a lot to be desired, which is, sadly, not unexpected in downtown Nashville. We woke up too late to take advantage of the brunch that was offered, but plan to experience it next time we return. All in all, a beautiful hotel, with beautifully renovated non-smoking rooms that allowed us to indulge in comfort and privacy. Other than the parking, we had absolutely no complaints, and look forward to returning again next summer.

Loved this for my wedding reception!

Rating: 10

My wedding party loved this hotel. We had an amazing reception here, and the honeymoon as well. Loved the food! The ambiance was just perfect and the service for our wedding reception was so perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for your wedding, reception, honeymoon. Treat yourself!

Absolutely Beautiful!

Rating: 10

I recently had my wedding at Union Station hotel and the staff did an outstanding job! They were initially very difficult to work with, but pulled through in the end. Every detail was exactly as we had planned it was even nicer than we had expected. The food was not only great tasting but the presentation was beautiful as well. Their post-renovation room are small but beautiful. They are very modern and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for not only meetings/receptions but also as a place to stay.

Go to visit, not to stay

Rating: 6

My wife and I had our wedding reception there and it was great. It's hard to beat the feel of the place when you walk in and see what used to be a central train station. As far as a hotel though, I would not recommend staying there. The rooms are not very comfortable and that is the most important thing in my mind when choosing a place to stay. It's a very cool place to visit, but I'd rather spend my money somewhere else for a room.

Trying to get wedding info

Rating: 2

My mother and I went in one day to gather information about having my wedding there. I'd heard good things in the past. We didn't realize we needed to make an appointment, so the woman was busy when we got there. She handed us a 'packet' of information and suggested we make an appointment, which we did. The 'packet' only had a ton of menu information and prices. We came back today for our 4:00 appointment and when she came out, she informed us that there was a reception going on and she would just have time for a few questions. My mother and I looked at each other, a little startled that we were being blown off after making the requisite appointment. She sat us in the (closed) bar (as in, not open for business and dark inside, doors still closed). We watched as she directed the reception. 45 minutes later we walked out. She didn't make any attempt to stop us or apologize, just nodded. It's a beautiful setting, but if that's the kind of service and organization I would have to look forward to, I'm glad I had this experience early on. Time to find a new venue...

Unique place to stay!

Rating: 10

Just returned from a weekend trip and enjoyed our stay at Union Station very much. One note - do not accept a smoking room thinking it won't be that bad - it will be! Thankfully, when we requested a better room for our second night, we were accommodated in the best way! The rooms will be renovated soon, so we look forward to going back to see how much nicer they are when that's done. As is, the bed was very plush and comfy, the soaring ceilings on the 5th floor were awesome, and the overall architecture stunning! If you're looking for something a little different - this is the place.

loud and old

Rating: 2

the trains are bad enough, but it is on train tracks...It is however unacceptable to hear everything going on in the hall (from the 1 inch gap under the door) and from the rooms next to and above you. There were wires everywhere (phone, lamps, cable, internet). We came for "classic" and all we got was old bathrooms, old furniture, old carpet, old wall paper, old drapes - but new Aeron chair!

Not an awesome hotel, but a good value

Rating: 8

I just returned from a stay here. The lobby and Arthur's (the upscale restaurant) are stunning, the staff was helpful & friendly, room furnishings are attractive, convenient downtown location plus a free shuttle service which will deliver/pick you up anywhere within a 2-3 mile radius. This is, however, a place which seems to be operating on a shoestring budget: several large stains on my room's carpet, woodwork & hallway wallpaper was scuffed, no newstand/sundries shop or exercise facility, the small housekeeping staff meant my room wasn't attended to until late afternoon each day. Take note that this *is* alongside a freight trainyard: while the noise was far less than you might think, light sleepers will want a room on the front side. The upper-story rooms (which I believe are all non-smoking) are nicer than those on the first 3 floors which are off the lobby and below it.

Hotel

Rating: 4

The room was nice...nothing to write home about (510), the wallpaper was coming off in places, and there was a stain on ceiling. The "nice robe" that was in the room....seen better at K-mart. The inside of the hotel is nice...but the bar where we had drinks...the service was anything but good. Overall..I'd say the place is over priced & over rated. Plus there was a party in the lobby of college kids who were very loud till after 12.

romantic, with faults

Rating: 8

This place still is the most romantic hotel in Nashville. Although it's kind of run down, my boyfriend and I spent a great weekend here. Made us feel like like we were in a different place in time. Maybe it was the room that looked over the lobby that gave us the feel. Whatever it was, this is still the place I can go to have romance at a reasonable price.

horrible

Rating: 1

my wife and i wanted to get away for a romantic weekend and chose this dump. the lobby is the only nice thing about this hotel. the parking is horrendous, the room was musty and had mold all over the walls. we asked management for a different room and they offered a dehumidifier and this went buzz, thump, buzz, thump all night long. this place was as romantic as a ymca men's shelter with open bays.

What a fabulous place. The service was outstanding. The room was wonderful. Your not going to get the amenities of a 5 star hotel, but if you like unique, charming and elegant, you'll love this place. We will definitely stay there again.

Truly the best hotel in Nashville!

Rating: 10

The most romantic and historic hotel in the city. we are having our wedding here and I could not ask for a more beautiful site, a better place fo my guests to stay or a friendlier group of people to plan it with!

Overpriced, uncomfortable

Rating: 3

I booked this hotel because it was deemed most romantic. The hotel itself was beautiful, but the rooms looked like a cheap excuses for hotel rooms. The bed linens were thin and uncomfortable. I won't stay again.

Service With a Smile

Rating: 9

I had the most wonderful experiences on my visit to Nashville, but they would have been less so if my hotel stay were not top of the line. Here I was met by one dedicated and knowledgeable employee after another and welcomed to the city just as we would do at my inns in Charleston, SC. It was a great place to unwind and a great place to start the day. The breakfast was hearty and delicious and the restaurant's fare was wonderful. All the staff made my stay special. And being a tour guide in one of the most historical cities in America, I was pleasantly satisfied with the decor and the accomodations.

Romantic interlude

Very nice place to get away, and not overly priced. Romantic, great fairly inexpensive breakfast buffet and nice suite with terry robes. I'd love to do it all again.....

Wonderful Staff!

Rating: 9

Based on another review, we requested a room on the 5th floor overlooking the balcony and ended up getting that exact room which was just gorgeous (although the bathroom was VERY tiny). What we found to be the best attribute of this hotel was the helpful bellhop staff who were at our disposal and drove us to wherever we wanted to go, gave us recommendations on restaurants, bars, etc and generally treated us like royalty. We would definately stay at this property again!
