Cool spot
Some celebs stay here. It's a nice spot and could even be romantic if you're into that. The restaurant has decent breakfasts, too. Walking distance to lots of stuff.

Top notch collection of people to connect with. -
Request an UberPedicab to take you over to the Convention Center. -
The Driskill Hotel is lit up lovely at night. Consider shooting during dusk, and use a tripod to shoot at slower shutter speeds to avoid camera shake and blurry pictures. -
pro tip: if you need to store jackets/laptops for a few hours or so, ask the concierge outside. there's a storage area in back. be nice and tip well! -

This place is haunted! So they say... -
The French toast at 1886 is to die for. -
The Driskell Bar makes me swoon (when it's not SXSW mobbed). Great live music. Revolver light fixtures. Killer bartenders. (And don't miss the cupcakes sneakily for sale at the bar) -
They folded my wash towels like a swan. What more do u need? -
The cinnamon roll at 1886 is definitely a must. -

The beds are delicious. And they keep toothpaste at the front desk. -
Grab a seat on the rawhide couch. -
You surprisingly can't hear 6th street inside! Magic! Order the Texas Pecan waffle for breakfast and eat it in the luxurious bed. -
Great place, Victorian style... Only issue is that I don't know how to switch off the supposedly relaxing "frog noise" of the alarm clock -
Wow. This place is amazing. Beautiful lobby and bar area. -
nice place, but watch for creepy hotel security following guests around the halls without cause -
I enjoyed my two-day visit very much - the staff was responsive and helpful - the two restaurants were terrific. I'd definitely return to The Drikill! -

Built in 1876 by a cattle baron and has hosted a history of political parties and inaugurations. In the 1970s this hotel was a hangout for musician, humorist, and journalist Richard "Kinky" Friedman. -
driskill during sxsw is a quiet civilized stop to meet friends, have a drink, hold a work conf call, charge ur phone & go to the bathroom. -
the little seats near the elevators next to the bar is a nice place to sneak away from the crowds. "elevator alley", i call it. -
