A Hidden Gem in Downtown Chicago
We are from suburban Chicago and frequently spend the weekend in the city. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a wonderful hotel. It has a great location, just a short walk to Michigan Avenue, Old Water Tower, Navy Pier, shops, restaurants, etc. The Crowne Plaza’s intimate feel is ideal for a couple’s weekend. The rooms are great, the beds out of this world, the rates more than reasonable and the service is top-notch. Don’t forget to try the Elephant & Castle Pub on the first floor for some great scotch! We can’t wait to come back soon!
Great Business Trip to Avenue Hotel, Chicago
The Avenue Hotel is a great business hotel with an unbeatable location and great amenities. The rooms were top-notch and everything about my visit went smoothly. The hotel is a short walk to the Magnificent Mile and all the shops and restaurants you could want. If not for my business trip and more personal time was available it would have been ideal. I must make a point of making it back here for a more relaxing trip in the near future. My room was clean, comfortable and had a great view. The amenities were great and the bed was unbelieveable. I don’t remember ever having such a good night’s sleep in a hotel much less on a business trip. The staff at the Avenue hotel were wonderful. From the front desk staff to the bellmen, guest services and housekeeping, the entire crew went out of their way to assist with plans both inside and outside of the hotel, and the hotel bar and its wait staff are experts at serving business groups -- attentive but not overbearing. In general, my stay at the Avenue Hotel was exceptionally smooth and productive. Our business meetings went smoothly, the rooms themselves were comfortable and had all the up to date equipment for presentations. I would recommend this hotel to any business group, but also to any tourist looking for a hotel convenient to many popular downtown Chicago spots!
FAN OF THE AVENUE HOTEL IN CHICAGO
I travel to Chicago twice a year for business and have chosen the Avenue Hotel for the past four trips. Coming from San Francisco my standards are high and I find the Avenue offers several major pluses. First, its location to the Magnificent Mile can’t be beat. Second, the upgraded room that I received on two of my last four visits was large by Chicago standard and has all the amenities that a business traveler or serious shopper expects of a first class hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also very nice and incredibly clean. My wakeup calls were delivered on time and with a friendly voice. Staff at the Avenue Hotel is friendly, accommodating and well trained in customer service. Third, with rooms located on the higher floors the view is incredible. I didn't try the health club, which has drawn a few negative comments on this website, but it looked completely acceptable. Overall I am a fan of this hotel and plan to return again.
Unbeatable place to stay in Chicago”
Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didn’t think it possible – well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed – I don’t think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The Avenue Hotel Downtown is Friendly and Clean!!
I have stayed in many, many topnotch hotels throughout the United States and none had a more accommodating, friendly and professional staff as what I found at the Avenue Hotel in Downtown Chicago. I just cannot give the management enough credit for how trained their staff is and how effortlessly they handled our business meeting. I was part of a group of over 50+ attendees and the Avenue Hotel downtown Chicago was well suited and prepared to handle our needs as a group as well as individually. The staff never missed an opportunity to greet me and seemed genuine when asking if I was enjoying my stay. I feel if my answer would have been no, they would have taken immediate action to see how they could make it better. As for the meeting accommodations they were exceptional with all the high tech gadgets you could ask for to make the meeting flawless. I canÂ’t forget to mention that the food served during our meetings was delicious! Believe me when I say you can actually eat the food during a business meeting in ChicagoÂ’s Avenue Hotel. I spent 3 days here and couldnÂ’t think of a more wonderful place to be on business. My room was phenomenal; I actually stayed in one of their tech rooms. You need to see it to believe it, complimentary high speed wireless, iMac computer, color printer and even a convenient docking station for my iPod. The room was clean; bed was out of this world, pillows were just right, plenty of towels and a roomy bathroom as well. I would absolutely rate the Chicago Avenue Hotel one of the best I have visited in terms of service, staff and accommodations. When my business brings me back to Chicago, Avenue Hotel is where IÂ’ll stay.
What a great Weekend in Chicago!
My husband travels frequently for business, and stays at the Avenue Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. With our hectic work schedules, we decided to combine a business trip with a romantic get-a-away for our fifth anniversary. I thought the Avenue Hotel would be a good choice since it looked so inviting on the website, and my husband said he found the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly. To celebrate this special occasion, my husband booked a deluxe room. Our room was lovely and well furnished and the Zebra chair was right up my ally. Our weekend included fine dinning and shopping just steps away on the Magnificent Mile. The only bad thing was there were too many shoppers due to the holiday season, but that was to be expected I guess. There was also a wedding at the hotel the weekend we were there and the whole place looked beautiful and reminded us of the reason for our trip ? our Fifth Wedding Anniversary. The Bride and Groom were so cute and we were able to stop them in the foyer and wish them well. If you are going to Chicago the Avenue Hotel is the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure?you will not be sorry.
We Loved It!
Our family travels quite a bit so we've had lots of hotel "experiences". The Avenue Hotel in Chicago was one of our most pleasant stays. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel clean. Each employee that we encountered seemed to enjoy their work and performed in top form. I believe this also reflects on the management - happy work environments create happy workers! The view from the Sky Lounge on the 40th floor is breathtaking, and we enjoyed our breakfast there each morning before venturing out for the day, even the young ones thought it was cool. This hotel is in the heart of it all and within walking distance to great shopping, site seeing, and restaurants. I could go on and on but you really need to see it for yourself. If you go to Chicago stay at the Avenue Hotel! The Jones family will definitely be back.

If you are lucky, you get a Corner Suite which is awesome and big, otherwise it's bijoux rather than boutique. -
The rooms are a bit small but really nice .. Housekeeping is good, everybody at this place is super friendly
