Parts of Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" and the comedy "Dumb & Dumber" were shot right here at The Stanley Hotel! Make sure you stay in a haunted room on the 4th floor. -

Elkhorn is not fancy but it is sooooo much fun! The people are friendly and the wranglers at the stables are fantastic. They'll take you horseback riding even if you have no clue which end of the horse is which. I had a great time and am already planning my trip back!
