ONE MONARCH BEACH RESORT

Partner Reviews: St. Regis Monarch Beach

    • Don't eat outside on terrace - birds attack you while eating and the ugly green patio chairs scrape loudly - just awful
    • You won't find better service. Impeccable butlers and a family feel.
    • This place is gorgeous!
    • Stay by the pool. Tons of flies at the beach.
    • An uber-sexy hotel. VOSS water in each room. Tantalizing 4-course meals at Stonehill. Trams to the coast. My new crush. :-*
    • Brunch at the St. Regis on sunday mornings is something you just HAVE to do if you have the time and room in your wallet. Don't penny pinch & make sure to get the unlimited champagne
    • I've stayed at my fair share of luxury hotels and this is at the top. Wow what a gem.
    • Don't book on SPG points, bad value. Get cheap rate or go to Ritz next door instead.
    • Go down at late afternoon! We saw lots of dolphins and other marine life during this time! Sit to the right on the beach, vs. The left, less flies and sea weed on the right!
    • No driving range at the golf course.
    • Amazing pool and restaurant, ask for Brandon as a server, he'll give you what you want no questions asked.
    • Jan is the best stylist at Vogue Salon st. Regis!!
    • Huge beautiful property. Visit in December when it's all decked out for the holidays.
    • Best Creme Brulee in OC xx!!!!
    • cheaper to valet than self park!
    • Our favorite weekend getaway spot. Easy drive from LA, beautiful grounds. Stonehill Tavern is great. Food at beach restaurant is only so-so, but great views. Sunday brunch is to die for, save room
    • Great food, drinks & view... Kobe beef sliders, Truffle fries perfect and hands down the best chocolate martini to date!
    • get a massage from their spa, best I've ever had!
    • Go see Sten, bartender at Stonehill Tavern, for a rockin classic Manhattan.
    • Go see Sten, a bartender at Stonehill Tavern. The man can rock a classic Manhattan.

Accommodations nice, service lacking.

Rating: 6

My review does not relate to hotel accommodations, but instead to the staff of this supposedly 4+ star hotel. Having conducted prior business with the hotel facilities and maintenance staff, I was dissappointed and amazed at the lack of business professionalism of this hotel department. Having done work for the department, then requesting and calling to confirm an appointment a day early, the department head simply didn't bother to call and cancel, but to allow me to show up and have his staff brush off the appointment as I stood with his subordinate. Obviously a bad image for a hotel of this stature(?), not to mention a high degree of unprofessionalism. A sad attitude for a hotel anxious to be great, yet only equal to the service level it provides.

Stonehill Tavern was fabulous. Great eateries throughout the property.

Rating: 10

My hotel experience @ the St. Regis was a remarkable one. From entering the hotel and being greeted by a very genuine Resort Ambassador that made us feel very comfortable to be there and was very knowledgeable on what the hotel had to offer. He was also very excited for my friends and family to enjoy a dinner at the Monarch Bay Club and take in the beautiful sunsets we heard about. At times the service was alittle slow in the hotel lobby/bar area, but they were very busy too. Sunday brunch was second to none. It was fabulous. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I also enjoyed the lunch at club 19 at the golf course. I will be back soon. One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. I would like to see there check in policy change to 1 or 2 o'clock.

Too Expensive for level of service

Rating: 2

I found this hotel's rooms and spa far below my expectations. The staff people in the lounge area stood around talking to one another and left us for 15 minutes waiting on ordering our beverages and the spa lobby receptionist was on the phone (personal call) for what seemed like an eternity! Will not return; there are too many other great hotels around.

Way too Pricey for service

Rating: 6

My husband and I stayed for two nights at St. Regis this last week and were disappointed by many things. The wait staff in the bar area stood around talking to one another instead of attending to us for some 15 minutes, the massage therapist in my VERY expensive massage seemed to have little expertise in the speciality massage she was giving me, and the prices for the rooms were way out of line when we saw the size and location. Would seems as though these editors were influenced by the fact that St. Regis DOES advertise on this service, even if the editors themselves were not paid. If you will notice, those feedbacks on editorial reviewed sites usually do not even make it into print...A person I know left a rather negative one on a reviewed site that did not even appear...
