Decent Hotel and Casino
We stayed at Sam's Town when we were in Vegas for a Softball Tournament. The price was right - the hotel is old, but kept clean. The gambl...

Very good alternative to the Strip
We enjoyed our recent 12 night stay at Sam's. This is locals casino that appeals to both locals and tourists because of the wide selection of entertainment and dining options. Rooms overlooking the atrium and Mystic Falls are priced slightly higher than those that do not. The rooms are not overly furnished and the bathrooms are not more than basic with a tub/shower combo and a single sink, but that is not why your are staying here. Sam's restaurants, excluding the food court, are rated fair to excellent with the former being the Firelight Buffet. It was redone a few years back and is now quite attractive albeit the food does not compare favorably with similar priced buffets. In the pretty good category are the Fresh Harvest Cafe and Fellini's (southern Italian). The best dining options are Willy & Jose's (Mexican) and Billy Bob's. Steakhouse. The latter serving up lTexas size steaks and potatoes along with a salad bar. The casino, though poorly layed out, offers the usual games of chance including many fully pay video poker machines. Other entertainment options include a bowling alley, cinema, lounge and an infrequently used show room. Overall Sam's is a good alternative to the Strip for the price conscious.
Sam's Town...Worth Staying In
Outside of the building may look like a gym but once you walk inside, you'll be really glad that you stayed in Sam's Town. It's like going outside inside the building even it's hot outside. Lots of sun, unbelievable Mystic Falls, that will capture your heart, all inside the building. A place you will never forget.
Sam's Town--worth a look
When we made our reservation to stay at Sams Town for a January 2003 visit, we were a bit skeptical. It seemed so far away from everything else in town. Since we were only staying one night, we figured this would be a trial of sorts, and, if we liked it, wed book a room there for our next visit. We will be back! The park-like atrium and its waterfall were very nice and a perfect place to relax. All casino and hotel staff were professional and pleasant to interact with. The rooms take on a no-frills approach in terms of their amenities when compared to other Vegas properties, but are nicely appointed. The casino was not very clean and had numerous malfunctioning machines, but my brother, a Sams Town regular, says that this is unusual. The Firelight Buffet (reviewed separately) was terrific. Try Sams Townyoull like it.
Sams Town
We got rooms for $29 a night last year - on a weekend in JULY!!! Such a DEAL!!!!! We WILL stay there again
Enjoyable and Entertaining
You feel like you are outside while you are inside this hotel/casino. The water/light/fog show is really amazing. The water shoots up to almost the ceiling which is the height of the building to music. My kids loved it. It is very nice there at Christmas time, too. They have all the trees inside the hotel decorated and Santa is there. Very nice and different. Don't know much about the rooms.
