Magical
If I could stay at one hotel in Santa Barbara for a weekend this might be it. It's just beautiful. It's very old world and rustic too.
World Class
We have traveled far and wide, but this little gem is the cream of the crop. We stayed there for a few nights when our house was being remodeled, it was a bit of a treat, and has become a yearly one now for some time. Personal stationary and chocolates, outdoor jacuzzi, amazing food. This place is to die for!!
San Ysidro is Under Construction
True weekends are quite. This is place is under major construction with plenty of noise during the weekdays. The constuction starts around 8:00 AM and goes until 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday. There are bull-dozers and large earth movers. The restaurant is not open and no one would give me a date when it will open. Also there is no room service, which is way to bad considering you are in this nice room and you have to get dressed and walk to a less than equal building down the hill. It is only a sub-par continetal breakfast. The average rates are hovering around $1,295 for a good room, some around $1,000 and old room for about $700. We were told that another constuction phase will begin in the fall of 2006 and last into late 2007. Until then, try Montage or Bel-Air, unless you don't mind construction noise.
A Little Piece of Heaven
Stayed here a few month's ago with my husband and 2 small dogs. It's beautiful, serene, and so relaxing. The staff was very courteous and attentive and they treated our dogs as well as they treated us. We enjoyed taking walks around the grounds. The pool, tennis courts, and small workout room were nice and secluded away from the cottages. The cottages were absolutely adorable with the most comfortable bed. They are also very spacious with nice amenities. If you have dogs and love to travel with them, this is a great place to stay. They have nearby hiking trails that your four-legged friends will love. The croquet lawn and small playground for kids was also a nice touch and I love how they name all of their cottages after some kind of flower or plant - that was really cute.
Oo, la la
Just up the road from Oprah and a gazillion other celebrities who have made Montecito home, this is an amazing retreat. Expensive, but worth evert penny.
rustic elegance
Cottages tucked away from the busy life of Santa Barbara. A relaxing and romantic spot.
