Raffaello Hotel
From HotelChatter contributor JetSetCD who stayed there in October 2009:
The Raffaello is the perfect Mag Mile hotel for a slightly older customer, perhaps those who enjoy shining their shoes and making highballs pre- and post-dinner (sounds Mad Men). It's also for those who abhor giant hotels, or hotel chains in general, and yet want the premium location that these chains usually command. And without a doubt, it's for travelers looking for a bargain without sacrificing comfort.

If you want a convenient location and don't mind paying for extras this is for you. The hotel is in a convenient location for shopping! We unloaded our own luggage dispite paying $38 for valet parking for 24 hours. If you want to check-out but leave your car parked for shopping/lunch, etc, its $22 for 2 hours and to check your luggage at the desk while you do those things, that costs extra. The wait for the elevators are between 5-15 minutes. The rooms have unattractive, out-dated wallpaper and small T.V's. They did not provide a bar of soap. For $7 you can get a breakfast of juice, coffee, tea and pastries. Eventhough check-out is noon, housekeeping knocked at 9 and woke us up. Our tv didn't work but was replaced quickly. Upon check-out, the valet was much better. The front-desk staff was very stiff and not personable.
A great deal
The Raphael is in a choice location - just a block off the Magnificent Mile, right next to the John Hancock Center, and a hop, skip and a jump away from Water Tower. The price is unbeatable for the locale. And although the rooms aren't as slick as somewhere like the Omni or the Drake, you won't miss the extra trimmings if what you're looking for is a comfortable, roomy accommodation for a weekend stay or shopping trip. (P.S. The Web site promises robes, but not all rooms have this luxury. The free breakfast isn't available year-round either. Check with the hotel.)
QUIET AND COMFY
Fantastic service and big rooms. Close to everything, just behind the John Hancock Bldg. Great value too.

Easily the best deal for the price. The room is about the size of a normal apartment for less than $200/night -
The Flowers in the Lobby are really beautiful! -
The elevator is very slow & small. Leave with extra time to spare. -

Totally agree with Heather T. The Raffaello is crazy affordable for such a nice small place in this location. Love the microwave and vanity desk in the my room. -
