This Hotel is Da Kine (really cool) for the economy

Rating: 10

I can't tell you how nicely treated you will be when you stay here. They are so sweet and accomodating and understand a weary traveler. Plus, it is a bargain bargain bargain and, can you believe it, they accept pets on the first floor! I suppose this is in keeping with the nearby super pet friendly Playa Vista. It is also really close to the new Westfield Culver City shopping mall which is really really great! (Same operator as Century City Mall). Plus it is near the 405 freeway. I only had one kind of weird thing happen which was when I asked to borrow a small plate from the restaurant for a togo salad I brought to my room, she looked at me like I was a martian. I would stear clear of the restaurant but the bar and the Culver Club (Jazz, etc.) are fabulous and even featured Ella Fitzgerald's son Ray Brown and Sally Kellerman the other night. Food is good in there too. This is a famous "unknown" local spot and I would definitely go back again and again!

Slumming it ... Stay here!

The pictures online are very deceiving. Somewhat run down. The thing that bugged me the most was there was no air conditioning in the halls. This to me is a a sign of a really cheap hotel trying to save money. Also, I stayed on the 9th floor and it took me two days to figure out that the two out of the three elevators that were working didn't stop at the 9th floor when going down. You had to press the button to go up and then press the button to go down once you got in. I complained about a dog barking everytime someone walked by the dog, but nothing was done.
