Adorable Bed and Breakfast!
This place was wonderful. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and had helpful tips about what to do in Denver. It felt like a stay at a friend's house. The breakfast was delicious - home-made biscuits and omelettes with fresh fruit and great coffee. The location is ideal - it's only blocks from downtown Denver, in a very adorable historic district. I highly recommend Queen Anne's to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and friendly place to stay.
Lovely Denver B&B
Several years ago I had occasion to travel to Denver on business. I was able to plan for a few extra days to see the downtown for the first time. I did a search for bed and breakfasts and as luck would have it I found the Queen Anne. I have stayed there many times since. I have always been treated extremely well. From the morning breakfast that is always well prepared to the evening tasting of Denver wines everything is excellently done. They have always gone out of their way to make my stay go well. Once I even had to check in late at night and leave early in the morning. They made sure I was able to come in after everyone was in bed and in the morning I found breakfast prepared extra early and waiting in the hall outside my door. References to local restaurants are based on my preference for that day and directions are always accurate. They have even called in my reservations for me. The King family and the Queen Anne seem to attract people who are fun and interesting to sit in the living room and share experiences with. If you're coming from Denver Airport, ask Tom first for directions. He knows better ways based on time and traffic. I have found the theme rooms both interesting and well prepared. I like the combination of old world Victorian surroundings, using real furniture rather than hotel chic, combined with clean well prepared rooms and modern conveniences that were certainly not there when the place was built. They even have WiFi in every room. I like to walk in downtown Denver and I especially like to haunt Lower Downtown, or LoDo. This is a 15 minute walk away. In a different direction and a bit closer is the 16th street mall area. Across the street from the Queen Anne is a park. This makes for restful surroundings even though it's close to down town. I'm looking forward to many more visits to the King family and I would recommend the Queen Anne to anyone.
very accommodating
We really renjoyed our stay and were impressed with how accommodating everyone was. You are so close to the heart of downtown. We enjoyed our daily walks to the city and the park across the street adds to the charm and character. Everything was neat/clean/appropriate. Would definitely stay again.
A Quiet Place to Stay in the City
My husband and I pass through Denver once a year, and we always try to include a night at the Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast Inn. It is a very special place in the heard of the city yet away from the traffic and noise. There is a park across the street and across from the park is a fabulous neighborhood restaurant (Dish). The Inn is within walking distance to the art museum, capitol buildings and the 16th St. Mall. We have always found the King family to be welcoming and accommodating. They serve up a great breakfast, and the daily wine tasting is always a treat. The theme rooms are tastefully done - we are partial to the Remington Room which has a very good hot tub. We look forward to being there again in 2009.
A Thing of Beauty
From the friendly and helpful late arrival to the equally friendly and helpful early departure, the entire stay (3 days) was a thing of beauty. We were able to treat the place as our home! Even the visit of our young granddaughters was a thing to be enjoyed by all. They were welcome, period. I do not know what could be changed to make the visit better. We will return. We will recommend it to anyone that will listen.
Wonderful, romantic getaway with private hot tub!!!
My husband surprised me for our 15th wedding anniversary and had my clothes put in the room before we arrived for "dessert." There was wonderful piped in music playing, a dozen roses, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries with a secret crunchy ingredient. I was totally stunned and surprised!!! Then there was a hottub on the roof underneath the moon and stars, and even though it was freezing the tub kept us warm and cozy. The owner was great and made us delicious quiche and warm croissants with a secret coffee blend and fresh fruit for breakfast. I would totally recommend this find in the middle of downtown Denver for everyone. The owner's Dad was a kind man who also made us feel very much at home. What a fabulous way to celebrate any event. My husband will get a lot of mileage for this one!!!
