Partner Reviews: Prince Conti Hotel
Not bad if you like Bourbon St.
My wife and I were looking for a romantic getaway and wanted to visit New Orleans. Not knowing much about the French Quarter, we picked the Prince Conti because it was smaller and looked like a nice place. It was nice...and the service was excellent. Our suite which featured a private outdoor courtyard was roomy but had the very unromantic feature of a 16 foot dining/conference table. We asked about moving to another room but the place was rather full. Also, the second night we were awakened by rodents running around in the ceiling (not sure what to make of that because it was very clean). After walking around the city a bit, we found that we probably should have stayed down by the riverfront or garden district areas as we really did not enjoy the scene on Bourbon St. This would be a great place for someone looking for a place near all the partying.
Great value, great location
This hotel is a great deal, except for the $20 parking, that is. It's close to everything & very easy to find. Rooms were clean & unique. Walls are definitely thin - we heard our loud, drunk neighbors come in at 3am, but you are in New Orleans, so what can you expect? The hotel doesn't offer a lot of extras - no pool, gym, breakfast, etc. - but if you're not going to use them anyway, it's no big deal. We were very pleased w/our stay & will definitely go back!
Nice room, service "ok"
We were very impressed by the appearance of the building - it is obvious that it is well kept. The room we stayed in was VERY nice. It was clean, well decorated, and generally pleasant. We had two TVs - one in the bedroom and one in the lounge area. We requested that our room be away from the street and we were well accomodated. The only downside is that the walls were thin and we were occasionally awakened by the activity in the room adjacent to ours. NOTE: Valet parking is NOT free.
