Nice value; boaters will love it

I really enjoyed staying at Wildwood on the Lake. It is nicer than your typical motel. There are 2 pools--a lake-fed one that is a little too close to the main road (Rte 86) and a heated indoor one. The motel sits right on Lake Placid and they have free boats (row, canoe, paddle) that guests can take out free of charge. The desk clerks (esp. Carly) are welcoming and housekeeping is efficient. The rooms are basic; ours, with kitchenette, looked out onto the lake if you craned your neck a bit; there was a little patio area outside with good lake views. Parking at night was tight, but otherwise no complaints. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Nice value for the money.
