Partner Reviews: Park South Hotel
WHAT A DEAL
This place is central to everything...Had a great time..The front desk staff in the evening was great..They gave great reccomendations of things in the area..Which was a relief beacuse we went all over the city.NOW the room size was a lil dissapointing..but i got what i paid for which was next to nothing..If you are planning to stay 1 night the cheap room is NOT the way to go..BUT if u r staying for a couple of nights, shell out the big bucks for the nicer room.. The breakfast was actually very impressive and it's FREE...Overall I had a great time and would be returning VERY SOON..
Horrible service
Seriously this place is terrible. Look at the reviews, hardly anything positive about the actual hotel and nothing at all written in well over 2 years. I can tell you why. The service is so bad, I would never be a repeat customer. I am so done with this hotel and am going to go back to the W Union Square - regardless of how much it costs, it's worth it... the Park South Hotel is not.
Restaurant
A great place to be. We enjoyed dinner here a few weeks back. The Salamon was fabulous and I would recommend ordering this. It was moist and...
Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed the neighborhood, close to lots of things, restaurants, bars, the train, etc. Really nice room, bigger than what we'd expected. Clean and very comfortable bed. Good service and I'd definitely recommend this place to couples and families.
A Really NICE Hotel
Out of all the choices for hotels in NYC, the Park South is strongly recommended. It has a lovely lobby and good consistant service. It is not ultra trendy, but not stuffy either. Very clean and very affordable. We paid $225 dollars for room and they upgraded us to a suite "just because it was available" It's not the coolest, but I would return because of the value
Definition of mediocrity
I'm embarassed and regretful of booking my guests into the Park South Hotel. At $280, the executive suites were lousy. The staff were consistently rude, hurried and impatient. The breakfast was shabby but the Black Duck (the restaurant) is very good for dinner. My guests had advance reservations for smoking rooms only to be checked into non-smoking rooms. They were moved around the entire hotel to be accomodated. For more seasoned travellers, they don't even have a half day rate like the Hyatt. If your flight leaves in the evening, you're expected to get out by noon or stay and pay for an extra night. They're understaffed. The poor doorman was perspiring, exhausted from solely carrying luggage the entire day. People are better off paying slightly more to stay at hotels that provide exactly what they claim to.
The best boutique secret
The Park South is the only place we stay when we come to the city. This hotel has figured out how to marry ambience, service and amenities to consistently provide a refreshing experience, all at a price well below other venues of comparable quality. The restaurant menu is outstanding top to bottom and the service is solid. This is our home when we are in New York.
Great find!
We spent two nights at the Park South. Rooms are extremely comfortable (but not much of a view). Great beds, triple-sheeted and very comfortable. Nice amenities. Friendly staff. Good restaurant/bar. Nice location near many shops and restaurants. High speed internet access was a plus. Very nice continental breakfast. We will definitely consider staying there again.
secret spot in manhattan
I had a great stay at the Park South hotel. The rooms are very nice and very clean, not much for a view, but the warm, friendly and fun staff was what made my stay a wonderful experience. The food in the hotel restaurant was great I cant wait to return abd dine there again. I love the high speed internet access in the rooms ( it was Free). They do a great job and i recommended it to all my friends.
Highly recommend this hotel!
i was so impressed by how friendly the staff was - even though it was my first time there I felt very much at home. Continental breakfast was excellent & exceeded my expectations. It was a great way to start the day and the location enabled me to walk to my morning meetings. Free internet access in my hotel room was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!
misleading advertisements
I am from Korea and visited New York on a holiday with my wife last month. I read the reveiws here and reserved a room, hoping that i will be nice place to stay. When i come i got different rate. No senior discount was given as was promised when i make reservation. They should be honest on what they promise and should deliver to get guest confidence.
What a find!
Have just returned from a birthday weekend staying at Park South & can't recommend it highly enough. A great value hotel for leisure or business. We paid just $129 via Quikbook. LOCATION - in a quiet area (good for poor sleepers!), about 30 yards from subway. Lots of good local restaurants. ROOMS - good size for NYC, clean, superb beds/bedding, recently decorated, quietly tasteful, bathrobe, closet small but adequate, good bathroom. Opening window. Not true luxury, but seriously comfortable. SERVICE - very friendly & helpful. They upgraded us, and gave me a cake & birthday card . We checked in early & out late without charge. Everyone was attentive & answered any questions quickly. FOOD - didn't eat in the restaurant, though it looked good. The complimentary breakfast was far better than expected - tea, coffee, fruit juice, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, croissants, pastries, muffins, bagels.
Great bargain
My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights in June '02 at $155 a night. Tremendous bargain. Spacious and luxurious rooms, terrific amenities, pretty good breakfast included, very clean and apparently recently renovated. Only drawback: Slightly boring neighbourhood - but pretty close to Herald Square / Macy's (about 7 blocks) and 10 blocks form Union Square. A find!
Brand New
I stayed at this hotel over a year ago, and they recently remodeled it. The lobby is beautiful and there are so many amenities. I like the new look and would recommend this place to business travelers and leisure travelers. Also, they have a new restaurant downstairs that I heard is really good.
