I grew up in Napa and traveled back for my nephew's wedding.  I booked the Napa Valley Redwood Inn several months in advance, for obvious reasons.  As it turns out, this "Inn" is the 40 year old Motel 6 with a new paint job and name.  The rooms have not been renovated and are gross!  We checked in to the Inn at 12:10pm.  The desk clerk was a nice young woman who explained that the maids were at lunch and the room would not be ready for an hour or two.  OK no problem, my husband and I went to lunch and visited his sister.  We came back to the Inn around 2:30pm. I already had my room keys, so I went to the door and opened it up and Oh my God, what a mess!!!  The smell was that of, I can't even describe!!  My husband went to the front desk to inquire what was going on....only to have the old lady named Maggie, tell him that check in time was 3:15pm.  My husband said fine, I'll be back then.  Maggie then proceeded to tell him that he was not coming back for his room and leave now.  When my husband explained to me the situation, I went to the office to inquire what the problem was.  Maggie told me that she did not like his attitude.  (Hello what attitude?)  This women Maggie should be fired!!!!!!!  When I asked for my copy of the room charge, she said I have your copy right here, picked up the phone and proceeded to call the police.  WOW!  Thank God not everyone in Napa is as nasty as her.  Karma will get her!!! She is the one with the attitude that she had the power to mess up your stay and leave you stranded.  Well you know what Maggie......I appreciate you being a very nasty person, because we found a better place to stay (The John Muir Inn)!!  Not only did I get a better room, it only cost a few bucks more that your DUMP!!  Everyone reading this....stay at the John Muir Inn, you won't regret it!!!
