Good Value, Poor Service

Rating: 8

This hotel is a very good value. The rooms are spacious and attractive. There are a few things to be aware of before booking this hotel. First, the staff is friendly, but overworked and undertrained. For example, I was there for 4 nights and 5 days and never received maid service before 5pm! In short, this is not a hotel to go to for top notch or even acceptable service. Second, I would recommend that you avoid room 219 and, I assume, rooms on the other floors ending in 19. Surprisingly, for a modern hotel, the sounds of the elevator going from floor to floor can be heard from the room. Finally, if you want one of the excellent cookies they serve at 5PM get there early because they make very few and they go fast!

Best of San Jose

Rating: 10

I spent 6 nights at the Larkspur Landing hotel in Campbell, CA - San Jose suburb. This is by far the best hotel I have visited yet. Each suite has a full kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bath. If staying for an extended period of time, you may want to stay in for a meal - no problem. Leave a list and the staff will do your shopping for you and charge to your room. Cookies and fruit available in the lobby when you return from a long day. The front desk staff is superb in their efforts to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Rates were very reasonable. I will stay there for all my future trips.
