Re: DO NOT STAY HERE! YOU MIGHT GET KILLED!

We began booking our trip to this resort five months in advance. Upon arrival, we waited 45 minutes to be checked in. We booked a 1 bedroom villa with ocean view, and received a 1 bedroom villa next to the noisiest restaurant at the hotel. We tried to switch rooms but were told that they were fully booked. Somehow that was hard to believe with an average of 20 people at the pool each day. We were also told that we would receive a phone call from the manager even if nothing changed. Still waiting for that phone call from the manager. The concierge forgot to book our reservations for our week activities even after calling twice. My girlfriend and I, at different times, walked out of the bathroom nude after taking showers to find staff members in our living room doing maintenance. The maid service did not come towards the end of our stay. Obviously, this hotel needs some work on there service skills.
After talking with the Manager, he apologized many times, but did nothing to make any of it better. It's one thing to say I'm sorry, but a guest deserves some kind of perk when all of these so called accidents occur with the staff.

Finally, to top off our stay at Villa La Estancia, we rented kayaks from the connecting hotel. In front of the hotel are roped off waters that are supposed to be safe. The hotels are the ones that place the rope in the water. We were kayaking in these "safe" roped off waters, and was run over by a scuba boat going 40 mph. After Americans rescued us from drowning, the hotel demanded $1000 dollars for the Kayak. They never asked if we were okay, or showed any concern for our safety. In fact, one of the staff members swam out into the ocean to save the Kayak from sinking, while my girlfriend fended for herself. Some of the staff watched and laughed from the beach as we almost died. The hotel would not give us the number for the police, they said they didn't want a scene. I thought it was little late for that. The waters are not safe in Cabo San Lucas! There are no police, no lifeguards, and no coast guard. You go in, your on your own!

This is not the hotel for any tourist to have a fun relaxing vacation. At Villa La Estancia, the staff will ignore you and you will not feel safe. Even the managers and directors of the hotel will find a way to avoid helping you in a time of need, whether it be service or even an injury. After spending over $3000 on this hotel, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Do not stay here, your life may just depend on it!
