Partner Reviews: Kings Courtyard Inn
Great Location For A Not So Great Inn
Room was adequate though on the small side. Breakfast included was minimal, an improvement would be a buffet. Ordered french toast for a fee, not worth it. For breakfast or happy hour, if it should rain there just is not enough room for everyone.
Historic, quaint and cozy.
Kings Courtyard Inn (KCI) is a historic motel, renovated 1853 building with three courtyards and small fountains. The motel has 41 units, no big amenities, just pure Charleston. We stayed in KC in 2001 and loved it. Quiet, nice comfortable room and friendly staff. You can have breakfast or dinner in the courtyard and at end of the day, you can enjoy the hotels jacuzzi. You can walk from your motel to do most everything. Unique to KCI is that it's tucked away from everything. It doesn't feel like your typical motel, you really feel the motel's history and privacy. I highly recommend on your first visit to try a smaller motel or inn so you can experience the true Charleston. Mark May 2003 I recommend experiencing at least your first visit, a small motel or inn, rather then the bigger places like Charletson Place etc.
