Partner Reviews: INN NORTHRUP STATION

    • Super friendly staff!
    • Tell the front desk if you're a AAA member. This will make you eligible for an upgrade to one of the sweet 2nd floor suites.
    • Rooms on 2nd floor have kitchens and a pull out sofa. Free continental breakfast in the morning and free parking. Best hotel in town
    • The staff rocks.
    • Decorating committee consists of Adam West, Jane Jetson, and Pee Wee Herman.
    • Great place to stay-- friendly, quirky and super clean.
    • For a larger balcony ask for an even number room (street facing) on the first floor. Granted this is a little noisier but, well worth it.
    • Best hotel I've stayed at in awhile--prob. my favorite in the States. Ask for a high room, away from the street. The rooms are first class design, w/ tons of little touches that make for high quality.

Great As Always

Rating: 10

I will continue to stay at this hotel. It is different than most. Great rooms and a great staff. They fill up fast though, so sometimes it can get tricky getting a reservation. Call ahead.

Fun place

Rating: 10

My sister and her husband were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Inn - with the rest of the wedding party. I went there and hung out with them a few times and was quite impressed with the location, the staff, and the rooms. I know that they all had a wonderful stay. I glad to have a place to recommend to family and friends when they come to town.

Not worth your time!

We made reservations to stay at this place, but needed to cancel. Their policy states that cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund. We canceled a WEEK in advance. They still charged us $130, which happens to be considerably more than the price of the room we reserved. We called them and have received nothing but rude service AND they refuse to refund the money. I suggest finding a more accomodating place to stay.

Beware

Rating: 6

Overall, the hotel was nice. We were excited to stay there. The rooms were nice and people friendly. However, after our trip to Powell's, we left our truck (nothing in sight) and ran to the room to get our coats. In the 10 minutes it took us to go to the room and back to the truck, our passenger window was smashed and the contents of the truck rustled. According to the police officer who took our report, this is a common occurance at the hotel.

Great location, but becoming shabby

Rating: 8

I stayed at Northrup Station for four nights, and I loved the location and nearby streetcar station. The breakfast bar in the lobby was a nice extra. The staff overall was very pleasant, although the front desk clerks weren't very polished and seemed too casual. One thing I noticed was that the room furniture and amenities are becoming shabby. The armchair upholstery had several holes in it, and the sofa was looking tired and worn. The ironing board cover was falling apart, and the dresser drawer pulls kept falling off. Although I was there for four nights and tipped the maid each day, I never received additional bath amenities during my stay, even after the bottles were empty. The rooms are nice and large though, and the location can't be beat for the price. But the hotel's rooms need some TLC and reinvestment.

Wonderful

I travel a significant amount of time, as a corporate business member. I was booked at a chain hotel and attempted to checkin to be told they did not have my reservation, I looked around and found this terrific boutique hotel in a fun part of downtown Portland. The room was huge and the bed was more comfortable than I could have dreamed. The staff was very inviting and when I asked to leave my compliments with the manager, she came out to the lobby and greeted with me, that was a first. I have booked my next reservation and requested my travel agent to continue to only book me here for future travels. Great, Great hotel and a lucky find!

If I didn't live in Portland...

Rating: 10

This is where I would stay when I visit! When the heavy snow and ice hit, my employer put me up in a room here. When I checked in the hostess had called local dining establishemnts to make sure I would have somewhere to eat! Highly recommended. P.s. The decor is to lively for you to leave with a frown!

The bed was PERFECT! It doesn't look or "feel" like a hotel (nothing chintzy here!). I'd redurn to Portland just to stay here and will stay here anytime I'm here on business again!

Valentine's Day Package

The staff went way out fo their way to accomodate a difficult scheduling challenge (changed message time and dinner reservations). I've done lots of packages at 4 & 5 star hotels...yours was the most fun and complete...keep it up! Price was great too!

Good Times

We stayed at the Inn @ Northrup Station from January 9th to 18th while visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and our new grandchild who live in the NW Neighborhood. We felt very welcome and very much at home due to the thourghtfulness of your staff-from the desk clerks to housekeeping. I am certain we will recommend the Inn to other people who visit Portland.

World-Class Hotel

Rating: 10

The staff at the Inn @ Northrup Station are superstars. Poeple like them put businesses like the Inn @ Northrup Station in the world-class category. It's refreshing, and so rare, to encounter the kind support and personalized care I've received from the Inn. Prompt in their replies, and thorough in providing me everything I need to make the right decisions about my stay. I can't say enough about the remarkable customer service I've received.

Too good for words!

Rating: 10

I really needed a weekend of pleasure and this is what I got here at the Inn. It began with two wonderful front desk agents, Mary and Jessica, who checked me in with no problems and gave me endless directions to great places to go have fun at. My room was beautifully decorated with retro furnishings. For having free continental breakfast, they had the best selections and a great way of displaying it . I can't say enough about this hotel and how great it was.

I enjoyed my stay ...clean...interesting rooms...if you need 2 tv's and three phones this is the place to be. Wonderful tiny kitchens and cookware in each room but there are hundreds of places to eat within walking distance. I will be back.

Enthusiastically Recommended!!!!

The Inn @ Northrup Station had a wonderfully appointed room, located in a delightful neighborhood, with an exceptionally reasonable price. We wish we could have stayed longer, and we wish we could have taken the pillows with us-best nights stay in quite a while! Peter Grimes P.S. Your kitchen is way nicer than ours :)

AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! I had lost my voice due to a medical condition and had to do everything by email. These people were more than happy to help me, which cannot be said for the restaurant I tried to reserve. Paley's Place was a nightmare to deal with and wouldn't give me a reservation unless I called, which I couldn't. So I found myself in Portland (I live 80 miles away) on a busy Friday, with no voice, trying to get dinner reservations for my husband as a surprise for his birthday. I stopped by the Inn early to see if they could help. While I finished other appointments, they called the other restaraunt I had chosen and when it was booked, got us a reservation at their favorite spot in the neighborhood. All in all a wonderful, accomodating place to stay. Great atmosphere and decor also. Highly recommended!!!
