A Diamond in the Rough

This one is a gem if you want to stay away from the big box cookie cutter rooms. I liked the location (across from the Court House) on the quiet end of the river. Loved my morning walks along the river towards the missions. The hotel is small and unpretentious but you get the authentic Texas experience.....murals painted by local artists. Legend has it that Santa Anna's army camped on this site before the Battle for the Alamo. The recently refurbished rooms are five star as is the service. The pool area is a sanctuary. I love visiting san Antonio and staying at this hotel. I always come home recharged!
