Fun Hotel

Rating: 10

I'll always remember the general manager being nice to us when we wanted to film a pilot here in 2004. The lobby is fun. They used to have free happy hr with a good DJ. Rooms are decorated with unique style. A little small, but who cares.

4 star is a bit more for this hotel, it deserves 3 star

I am agree with reviews given for this Hotel. I (personally) feel that if there is some thing not good in Hotel that is Management. When Hotel is on that location which is noisy, they should keep it sound proof so, some one can get relaxed in silence. I am an writer and stayed there for a night but trust me, it was very difficult to concentrate on my work. Overall, staff and very much committed to guests. They try their best to make guest plead.

kitschy but all style over subtance

I am a San Franciscan with a long distance relationship. My boyfriend comes out on business a lot and I pick out hotels for his business to book so I can stay and give recs to friends. I was excited to try this as it is so cute and has that parker palm springs 70's feel. But they seem to have forgotten the first rule is to start with the bed. It was awful and the sheets were cheap and scratchy like a motel 6 and we were cramped in a tiny room like a Paris hotel. Lucky we had my flat to go to. So his company paid for 4 nights and we only stayed one sleepless one.

All hype, no service -- Update

Rating: 6

This hotel was a complete disappointment. Sure, it looks cool, but the rooms are very small and the staff doesn't know the first thing about customer service. Upon check-in, after waiting four hours for our room to be made ready, we ended up having to wait even longer, because the front desk sent us to the wrong room. And if you need help with your bags -- hire someone off the street, because the Triton's staff will not assist you. The evening wine reception is merely a few bottles of cheap wine in a tub of ice and the cookies look like Keebler packaged cookies laying on a plate located on the front desk. The rooms are clean, but it takes all day for them to be done. We returned to our room each afternoon (around 3pm) and three out of four days our room still had not been cleaned! And after spending close to $1,000 at the Triton, upon checkout all we were asked was, "Did you take anything from the mini bar last night?" No "Thanks for your stay" or "How did you enjoy your stay?" Clearly, the Triton has let hype go to it's head. I've stayed at lots of SF hotels, and this one is by far the worst. If you are looking for a cool boutique hotel, do a search -- San Francisco has tons of them. Stay away from the Triton, unless you simply want to say you have stayed there, because that's all your money will get you. UPDATE: After contacting Kimpton, the manager of the Triton contacted me personally and compensated me for my negative experience. I will give the Triton another chance thanks to proper customer service.

cute little hotel, not so cute big bill

Rating: 10

this place is adorable. there is free wine from 5-6, and rooms designed by such celebs as jerry garcia. it is in a great location, with wonderful cafe de la presse ajoined. it is however very expensive. the rooms are pretty small, and they do not keep it ventilated well enough.

Great Hotel! An absolute favorite of mine. Whenever I go to SF, my friends and I check into the hotel and then head down for a bit to eat in the Misson District.

Funky Rooms, Great Design, Service Okay

Rating: 6

Had a good time here. The rooms are very interesting-- no cookie-cutter hotel-chain designs here-- and the location was close to Chinatown. We had some trouble with valet parking (our car was damaged), so don't bring a nice ride. Overall, a great trendy place to stay in SanFran.

Cool and trendy -- Very S.F.CA

Rating: 10

I grew up in a sheltered little Washington town and this was my first trip to California. The hotel was very hip and trendy looking to me -- exactly what I expected from San Francisco. The colors (purple, gold and orange) were quite loud, but it was fun and inviting. The staff was AWESOME! Very friendly and helpful, they really made you feel like you were their most important guest. The room was tiny but very nice. All in all it was a great experience. A little pricey maybe, but worth it.

A hotel with character

Rating: 8

We stayed at the Hotel Triton during our recent trip to San Fran and could not have been more pleased. We tend to stay away from the large chain hotels and prefer smaller hotels with more character. The staff could not have been nicer nor more accomodating. The location is great and the price can not be beat. We will stay there again and again.

Great Place to Stay!

Rating: 10

The Triton is a wonderful place to stay - it's close to many attractions and is at the gate to Chinatown. The happy hour in the lobby was a nice way to unwind after work while deciding what to do for the evening. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is where I'll stay each time I'm in San Francisco!

rockin' hotel

Triton is a great hotel. Funky and colorful and has everything a corporate hotel would have. Other hotels charge for business center, but not them. I was able to log on to Citysearch to find out what to do while I was here for free! Next time I will bring the kids. They are going to love it!

Great Location- Small room

Rating: 7

Hey- It's SF so i would not imagine most of the rooms are big are they? Stayed there this past weekend, had a blast but the rooms are pretty small and this is an older hotel- similar in size to Hotel Monaco i would say. If you can afford the suite it might becool. But it was clean and in a great location, right next to china town. we paid $139 for a non smoke room. hotel staff was great, a cool irish bar right in the back alley, centrally located.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE

Rating: 3

My boyfriend & I stayed at this hotel this past weekend for his b-day & what a surprise! Lobby was nice as usual with most hotels, but the rooms were like a box! My office at home is bigger than the entire room! They were sooo small. I liked the style though. I expected something bigger for the price. The next morning, we called for clean towels, they never came. I would not reccomend this hotel, BIG disappointment! I reccomend Hotel Diva, we had a great experience there & a huge room for a $60 difference (cheaper) than Triton.
