From the Hotel:
Ideally located in downtown Portland, the totally new Hotel Fifty overlooks the Willamette River and Tom McCall Waterfront Park -- literally where "downtown meets the river." From here, the best of Portland is at your doorstep. You can't help but recognize the work in progress . . . concluding with the hotel's totally new sleek and contemporary exterior.

Pleasantly surprised!
After reading the other reviews on here, I almost didn't stay, but the rate I found was so much cheaper than all of the other downtown-ish hotels that I couldn't pass it up. PLUS it didn't look bad from their website. This hotel was awesome! My room was very clean & very sleek in the decor. The shower is open with 1/2 glass pane which I loved. There's no view out of the rooms...but who cares? The parking was very convenient (right behind the hotel & covered) and there was always street parking as well. There are flat screens on the walls, silky black comforters and black curtains. Love it! The staff is wonderful and the bar/restaurant is also awesome with an open fireplace in the center. The beet salad was simply delicous! I will continue to stay here as the price is right and for what you get...it's a STEAL! Don't let these other reviews scare you away.
Wouldn't go back
I'd been wanting to try H50 Bistro & Bar for a while. The pictures on the website make the place look much cooler than it is. The specialty cocktail prices range from $8-$13 and I couldn't find one to get excited about. Their happy hour pricing consists of a $1 off drinks and food. With so many other really great happy hour alternatives, I wouldn't go back. Additionally, the place was almost empty which is a hard feat to pull off in a town that loves its happy hour.
Hmmmm?
No parking. Tvs were big but poor picture. Not worth the money
REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS HOTEL
VERY DISAPPOINTED in this hotel. My husband and I rented a King room this last weekend. It was not clean, the sheets had stains on them and there was an old beer cap on top of the lamp. The bathroom accessories were not cleaned either. There was absolutely no art work on the walls and also no ice machine. There were chest freezers w/ bags of ice in the hallway! I had expected a much higher quality of room. This was more like an upgraded Motel 6. I would not stay here again.

Hotel Fifty's riverview and convenient downtown location make it one of the best places to stay in Portland. Close to shopping, jogging/walking paths and great views from your hotel room. -
Go to the bar, the bartender steve starts by asking your name when you sit down and will go on to treat you amazingly. The main reason why I choose to stay here every time i'm in pdx. -
Try to get a room toward the river (east) side of the hotel. The light rail trains run right by the other end frequently, and they are loud! -
If you like sleeping in, stay in a room as high up as you can...the Hotel Fifty is located in a noisy morning traffic area.
