Don't stay here if you want to sleep
Sure, it is close to Berkeley. Sure, the staff members are friendly and nice. However, there is nothing positive about this place that can make up for the fact that the walls are paper thin. In fact, I'm not sure that something in the structure (the very high ceilings?) doesn't amplify the sound. Two nights now I have been woken up by my neighbor's television at 3:30 in the morning. The vacuum in the hallway sounds like an airplane engine. Someone getting ice from the machine 5 rooms away sounds like machine gun fire. And I wear earplugs. I've had to stay here before (this is one of the places UC Berkeley puts people up) and had the same experience -- I was hoping this one would be better, but it has been worse. Next time, I am going to insist on staying somewhere else.
As far as hotels go...
What do you want from a hotel? Clean sheets and room, moderate pricing, and friendly service. That's exactly what you get at the Hotel Dur...
bot a great place to stay
the rooms here are pretty small, the air didn't work. when we opened the windows, there was the constant sound of traffic. the customer service here is excellent, however. the location is also convenient for parents visiting uc berkeley students
