The front desk staff isn't that great for such a "fancy" place. -
What I like about GVR is that Claim Jumper restaurant is across of the 215. Eat dinner there and then go across to GVR for some R&R/gambling. -

I WAS FOOLED
After some problems with my room, housekeeping admited they don't always change the robes or the sheets. The Casino is dead, the staff is rude. The food cannot campare to the rest of the Las Vegas sceen. The outside property, spa, pool and exercise room are extremly nice. I would go back to use the spa but would stay somewhere else.
Nice Casino

Best Off Strip Hotel and Spa Resort around. Everything you could ask for.
I travel to Vegas More then 12 times a year, when I stay at the GVR I never feel the need to leave. Every Need can be met the Gambling, the Dining, and of course the High quality rest relaxation and entertainment. Beds are some of the nicest in town the staff subtle and hard working. Accommodations Hip, functional, nice most importantly clean. The resort is maintained beautifully, the Pool and Adult Only Pool are second to none. Weekends are Set-up to party at the whiskey Saturday night drinks at the adult pool till 11 and doing it again in the morning. Walking distance to shopping, Room Service friendly Great Off Strip Experience relaxing or exciting as you want it to be. All Ages Mostly 18-45 Core Party People range 21-40 all getting along great. Enjoy your time don?t forget a massage!
Simply the best
This is the place to stay for those who want an upscale Las Vegas experience without the crowds and hassle associated with staying on the Strip. We have stayed at GVR twice and been impressed with the property each time. The rooms are just fantastic as is the service. We love the pool area which overlooks the valley. The hotel is adjacent to the District offering many shopping, entertainment and dining options.
Best Place off the Strip
This place is awesome! The pool area is so great you almost don't want to spend time in the casino....almost! Although we are in our late 20's we hate staying on the strip. This was a great way to be in Vegas. Not the cheapest ride to the strip (about $20 cab fair each way)....however on our second day we stayed at GVR all day...it had everything we wanted or needed. The rooms are great....the whole resort is awesome. We will stay here next time in Vegas. Only bad thing is they held $500.00 on a credit card for a week and a half! Our room was fully paid for when we arrived so I think holding this amount was a bit much and the hold should have been lifted when we left the hotel. Just be warned to bring a card that you don't mind having frozen (read don't use a debit card etc)
My favorite hotel
Green Valley is just teh place to go if you are so "over" the Vegas scene and want a more relaxed luxury vacation. You wont find too much of the teeney-bopper types here but you will find a really laid back crown in their upper 20's to 50's. The pool is too die for and the staff is out of this world.

Horrible Experience
The guest who was occupying our room before us decided not to leave and the hotel was oversold. They finally put us in a larger suite for almost 3 times the price. Promised return calls by management were never received and then my card was overcharged by more than $1,000. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

CONSTRUCTION AT HOTEL
I stayed here in late May, and the hotel is indeed lovely and the service impeccable. Great amenities too - the gym has new exercise equipment, an indoor whirlpool in the spa, etc. However - and this is a big however - there is major construction going on all around the hotel. Green Valley is expanding, so there is earth-moving equipment, half-built concrete structures, and hard-hatted construction workers pretty much everywhere. The view from the pool is spoiled by 4-5 story half-built building. We were also woken up at 6:45 am by protestors shouting and screaming through bullhorns about I'm not sure what -possibly the construction- but they weren't happy. Since they were standing just outside the hotel's property boundary, management couldn't tell them to leave. Construction will go on until January 2005, so consider yourself warned.
Fabulous!!
I love this place. After staying at other places hands down this is my favorite hotel in Vegas. The rooms are very very tastefully decorated, as is the entire hotel (old english style). I never wanted to leave my bed, it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. They are always very busy because their 201 rooms are always booked solid, but despite that, I found the staff very friendly. Be sure to use the pool as it was a highlight for me, its beautiful. If you are into the club scene visit the Whiskey Sky bar as well, as an orignial LA girl I can tell you this is one of the coolest places I've seen, its very very modern! ok I'm done now..yay!!
reservation phone will ring and ring
I suggest having a friend or travel agent make the call for you or if you have a family member that lives in the LV area, have them goto the Hotel in person to make reservations! The phone rings and rings, and then when they finally answer they are rude. Not very well mannered for a 4 star hotel.
