Stay somewhere else -
Don't forget to try the water elevator... -
It is perhaps the most beautiful resort I have seen in my life. -
Swim around the pool and find the underwater Grotto bar. -

-
Make sure to try all the pools. Adults, swim up to the bar in the pool & have a drink. The spa is incredibly relaxing. All the whirlpools are amazing in the spa. -
Big pimping lifestyle -
Even more beautiful if we all pick up a few pieces of trash. Find 5 pieces! -
The SpaGrande is the best ever! Highly recommend. -
The best hotel pool I have ever seen! -
The lotion at the spa is the best! Awesome resort. -
If you want local shopping, head to the Swap Meet every Saturday...great gift buying, shop with the locals and save money, it's the best gift, buying on the island! -
Go to the Spa Grande and soak in the five salt baths. -
Try the White Prawn And Scallop Longhi - Absolutely fantastic! Longhi's signature dish since 1976! (via @Foodspotting) -
Humu's is not to be missed. Scallops, ahi tuna, snapper, mahi-mahi is awesome. -
If you're not staying at the resort you can still rent an umbrella & loungers for $30. Just find the beach attendant & they'll get you set up. -
Dinner at Humu...macadamia nut encrusted mahi-mahi...TO DIE FOR! -
the kids in our group really liked the Sand Castle kits the hotel provides! -

Find the hidden hot tub! -
Order a mai tai in the middle bar. They ain't messin' around! -
Humuhumu for expensive dinner, or save some money and head down to Kihei to Sansei for great sushi at a great price. -
Check out the Volcano bar! -
Worst concierge hotel EVER!!! this hotel is BAD BAD BAD -
This place rocks, best resort on Maui -
The Luau at this resort is far from authentic... its a cross between South Pacific & Cirque de Sole (so?). go to Old Grand instead. -
My favorite resort in Maui! -
Ask directions to humuhumunokanokaapuaa or you will wander forever -
Good food in and around this great hotel, and tools like UrbanSpoon can help you find other great local spots like Matteo's, Pizza Madness, Joe's, Kihei Caffe, PuPu and more. -
If you tire of expensive (but good) food and want something simple, head about 10 min north to the Maui Taco in the same strip mall as Safeway
This resort has gone so far downhill
This resort has gone so far downhill ever since new management took it over several years ago. The Front Desk staff were bored and fat out just didn't give a sh--. Their adult pool, oh forget about it! Screaming kids ahoy, and all seemed to have been dumped there by their parents, never to return again. Their one saving grace is their spa, which is the most spectacular in Maui. I know, I've been to each and every single one of them! Oh, I miss their limu bath already! Psyche! I can order it online, bwahahaha!!!!!!
Best Hotel in Maui...TRUST ME!
This is one of the most beautiful hotels in Maui. I've been to Maui many times and The Wailea has got to be the best one...The pool is great for families, but most of all the Luau is one of the best! Good food, unless you hate meat, pork, and onions. Otherwise it was a really nice place...The sunset is beautiful and the grounds are spectacular! This was a 10 out of 10 hotel!
Amazing Pools, Amazing Views
My family of 4 stayed at Grand Wailea for 10 days in early Feb 2007. Our kids are 3 1/2 yrs old and 7 wks old (not a typo!) Anyway, the hotel is amazing. The lobby is breathtaking with its open air design, fantastic artwork and timeless design. The grounds are gorgeous and the bronze statues blend in the natural setting with ease. The pools include a swim up bar, baby pool w/ a sand bottom, sauna 2 hot tubs, slides, volleyball play area and so much more. No complaints here except beach chairs in the shade by the baby pool go quickly. The rooms are HUGE for a hotel....the cheapest rooms are 640 sf. There is not a bad room in the resort. All of the restaurants are nice but expect typical HIGH resort prices. I certainly suggest packing in groceries or travelling off the resort for food. The only negative comment I would make is their maintenance schedule is lacking. If they continue to let things go at this rate, the resort (not incl the lobby) will need a major overhaul in a few years. The rooms show signs of the high humidity (peeling wallpaper, mildew, rust, and a slight musty smell) and the pool areas have many missing or chipped tiles.) This certainly does not have an impact on your stay, but at the room prices, they should step up their maintainence schedules.
fabulous spa
We stayed in Maui with friends, however I did eat here and spent a whole day at the spa to pamper myself. I always do this while on vacation during the time my husband is golfing. This was by far the most luxurious spa I have been to. I will be sure to return when we visit again!
AWESOME!!
I am 16 years old and i have been traveling around the US for the last couple of years with my dads company on vacations, i have been to place like Oahu, HI, The Big Island, HI, Florida, and New York. Every where we have gone we have stayed in very nice 5 star hotels. But when we went to the Grand Wailea it was the best place ever! I will never forget it there! It was beautiful! It is BY FAR the best place ever to go I would HIGHLY recomend it!
