Re: Gigi's Resort

Worst hotel experience ever!!! I tend to not give reviews and am easily pleased with resorts/hotels--and am totally used to the south Florida quality...ie Key West style with no perks or flare but this was bad.
  1. Room was filthy--dirt on floor, old food in fridge, sheets had NOT been changed, and the pillowcases were yellow.
  2. The shower had NO hot water and NO pressure.
  3. The door would NOT lock!
  4. No service at all--went to front desk for info/requests MANY times to see a sign indicating they would return later.
  5.  FIRE  TRAP--old wood building--all windows painted shut and levers broken...only one way out of room.
  6. CAR TOWED!!! We arrived in two cars--the hotel has only 7 spaces--understandable for a tourist city, BUT the hotel rep that checked us in told us to park one of the cars across the street in a lot. The lot was not a pay lot, just an empty lot--he told us it would be safe and ok--next day car was towed. A neighbor of the hotel reported the car and let us know he did it as we stood there looking for answers--he then told us that Gigi's regularly lies to its guests and has them park their cars there and indicated they had a racket going with the tow company for kickbacks. It took us almost an entire day to track the car down and then pay $130.00 to get it back. The tow driver even indicated he picks cars up there daily--I called the hotel manager and after catching her in several lies, and then asking for her name she hung up on me. I was polite and gave her the benefit of doubt but she was RUDE and shouldn't be in hospitality.

I don't know what our options are from this point but we are def going to see what we can do. It wasn't even about the money but just an offer to pay at least half the tow would have softened the blow.
This hotel may seem like a good deal but the headache of a cold shower with no pressure, someone elses used sheets, dirt, and rude service balances the good deal out to nothing.

Stayed Mid April

My Boyfriend and I had a blast.

Gigis Resort was right across the street from the beach and within a couple minute walk of about 10 different restaurants.  We Especially enjoyed the Casablanca Cafe which was a couple doors down from Gigis.
-Ironically we parked in the lot across the street from Gigis, it was owned by casablanca cafe.  We paid the $3 parking fee to the lot attendant and never had a problem.

The room we were in was called London.  I guess it was one of the newly renovated rooms.  New pillow top bed, flat screen tv, and sofa sitting area.

The positives-  Comfy bed, clean room, flat screen tv, great location, free wireless internet, free breakfast, priced right and friendly staff.

The negatives- No pool.
