When the Fairmont Mission Inn in Sonoma offers a deal, any self-respecting wine-drinker should snag it (added bonus - free in-room Champagne and California wines). On a recent wine country trip we did just that and found a Harlequin-worthy suite. Hello foolproof wood-burning fireplace - just stick the burlap sack of pre-arranged logs in and light up. Then follow their ventilation instructions and open then French doors, which overlook the courtyard where acres of elm trees and smoking chimneys inspire Kinkade-style warm-fuzzies. When it got chilly, we took our chances and closed the doors (with no ill consequences), which then allowed us to fire-up the room's piece de resistance, a mid-room Jacuzzi-tub. Without getting into any naughty details - stepping out of the bathtub and into the bed...priceless.
