Other Embassy Suites have been better than this one
We've stayed at Embassy Suites in the past where the rooms are much nicer. This seems to be an older hotel and the carpet and living room furniture are dated and the living room sofa had stains. I thought it was a smoking room! The manager left a note on our table welcoming us, and left 2 bottles of water. The room was decent but not spectacular. The bathroom had nice toiletries but the door was in an awkward position. You had to open it out all the way to get it out of the way because there's a small passage way from living room to the bedroom & you couldn't get pass unless that door was opened all the way. A pocket door would've been better in that limited amt of space. There are 2 sinks, one in the walk way and the 2nd in the bathroom. A coffee vessel with packets of tea & coffee was available. The 2 TVs were nice, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. Didn't like the shutters next to the front dooor. If you opened them, strangers in the hallway can look into your living room. If you don't open them, the living room is dark, even when you put the lights on. Breakfast was horrible, served on the ground floor in the Atrium. It's an all you can eat buffet, but the food didn't taste good. The watermelon was so overriped, when you picked up a slice, it flopped over, like a piece of raw beef. The bacon wasn't good (our teenager loves bacon & didn't like this bacon!!), and the pancakes/eggs were dry. The processed potatoes were good. Coffee, hot water, milk & OJ were dispensed from vending machings. You can order omelets fresh, and make your own waffle. The oatmeat was ok (how can you go wrong with that?) with fresh blueberries. I would give the buffet breakfast a D if I had to grade it. The breakfasts we had at the Embassy Suites in Maui were so much better. Maybe it's because Hilton Hotels now owns the chain & it's gone downhill, or could just be that this particular hotel misses the Embassy Suite standard I'm used to.
Spend holiday with my toddler
For a family of three on a budget, the Embassy Suites Hotel prices were very reasonable. Our favorite thing was hanging out all day at the $...
