A new favorite
I travel to Anchorage monthly, and my favority use to be the Marriott chain. THis hotel is so much nicer. Beautiful rooms; great tubs; central location to movies, the mall and shopping. Clean and tidy and very spacious feeling. The beds are by far the best of any hotel in Anchorage. Only problem -- too few staff and the service is a bit dissapointing. Also, a bit noisy because of its location. Just ask for a cental room, or one facing the back of the hotel, and not the side streets.

Service improving
I've stayed here many times but the first time I almost didn't come back. I flew in late and called for the shuttle, but after waiting an hour and repeated calls, I decided to take a cab. The desk clerk was terrible and actually blamed me for the shuttle fiasco. Slowly the service has been improving here. Now when you go to the airport if the shuttle is going to be slow they pay for a cab ride. The rooms are BY FAR the best in the city with large tvs, plush beds, and of course the oversize tub. The location is somewhat strange being as it's part of the Dimond Center Mall parking lot, but the bus terminal is right outside and there is a movie theater in the mall. This could become the best value in Anchorage as prices are reasonable even in summer.
