Couples Ocho Rios was the third Carribean all inclusive vacation in less than a year and the only disapointement! It is not a luxury,five star resort, as advertised. It is very plain, old and unkept, tiny beach with a rope strung across the swimming area, seaweed filled swimming area and dirty. Scuffed walls, tiny pool, lousy entertainment, can't take photos of the entertainment, due to their so-called copy-wright laws in Jamaica, they claim. The atrium contains severely starved and featherless Macaws, dirty and unmanned.Food is nothing to brag about and black birds eat off your plate! The employees also line up and prepare their meals from the buffet and sit and eat amongst the paying guests, groundsmen, maids etc. My husband fell severely ill on the second day of our nine day stay, due to the food, we believe and spent the majority of the trip on the toilet with diarrhea and in bed with severe stomach pains! A physician had to be called in on our departure morning to administer three intravenously bags of electrolytes just to get him stabelized for a three hour bumpy bus ride to the airport! This cost us an extra $300.00 for the doctor! After complaining to the management about the starved and featherless Macaws several times, during our stay, all on deaf ears, I took it upon myself to feed the Macaws each day from the fruit buffet. This kept me busy while my husband was in bed and on the toilet! Once home, our complaint via internet to the Florida based corporate office, we received a two day reimbursement from Apples Vacation, from the resort. This truly was not enough, for we feel as if we should have gained every sent we spent back in full! This was the worst of the worst and a EXTREME NIGHTMARE! Take our advice and don't venture to this place, unless of course maybe to save the Macaws, for we are still haunted by their neglect and condition. The manager stated he'd not seen them for several years and once he did, he was ashamed! They didn't even have record of them ever even seeing a vet! Not to mention knowing what their names are.
