Love the well-equipped gym on the 2nd floor. -
I don't understand American service. I got kicked out of a booth at the bar while staying in a room here for a week. What's a guy gotta do to enjoy a good scotch? -
Good party in the main bar -
Elegant, modern and uber-designed, this Phillippe Starck designed hotel is one of the hippest places to stay. Have a drink at or just peek into the Redwood Room, a classic bar with redwood paneling -

AskMen tip about Redwood Room crowd being 'a little on the older side' is off: Guys may be a bit on the older side, but ladies with the older guys are often plenty young. Still, cool bar. #justsayin -
Great stay so far except the shower doesn't drain well. Ask for a complimentary upgrade during check-in for a higher floor! -
Read a lot about the thin walls. Make the most of them and enjoy an anonymous earful! -
High end prostitutes and cocktails. Douchey douchebags and golddiggers. Experience this one properly: dress up and and get a bottle of champagne. -
Look under the big chair. -
Great little hotel near Union Square, had a great stay. So try it if you're visiting. -
Take a quiet break in the Living Room to read, relax and people watch! -

While the hotel is good but not amazingly (contemporary design and pastel colorS) the bar is certainly one the better places to have a drink to impress. Can be very crowded, which is one the appeal.. -
This is hands down one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in the Morgans group. Room walls are paper thin, staff is rude and unhelpful, bar breeds douches. Stay at hotel vitale instead. -
Check out Clift on Facebook! -
grab a bite to eat in their "living room" and watch the lobby action. the menu is the same as in Redwood Room. -
Get there early so you can get a seat at the bar. Otherwise you'll be standing up all night because the tables are reserved for bottle service. -
wifi in lobby is not free. bummer! -
In the Lobby - look under the Big Chair for a surpise!! -
You have to check out the Redwood Room - Plus have a Clift cocktail

Cozy, romantic hotel in heart of theatre district
The rooms are a mixture of new: marble sinkgs, crown molding and old: carpeting and antique furniture. They are pretty small but very cutely decorated and ours had a nice view onto Geary St which we could thankfully shut out with heavy curtains when we wished. The staff was very helpful, after the drycleaning service misplaced my jacket the hotel concierge offered me one to use and gave us frequent updates on the search for it, finally hand delivering it to our room. The staff was also very friendly and helpful in regards to transportation. The continental breakfast buffet is simple but good.
Great service, romantic, and cozy!
This hotel is small and cozy which is why they have great service. Perfect for a romantic weekend. I called at 2am for wine glasses and they were there in 2 minutes. The staff is nice and willing to cater to your needs.
