?? "Hip" ??

Rating: 2

Identifying oneself as 'hip' is not. Having a guest robbed, then not being in close touch with him/her--let alone not returning calls--is well beyond abysmal. The owner/management should not be in a consumer-oriented business.

Lousy hotel product

Rating: 2

I am not sure how anyone can stay here and not be dissapointed. Cheap breakfast. Rude service from the night staff. Lound music in the lobby all night long so if you got a room on the first floor forget about sleeping any. Lights out in the room, no safe. Don't even bother to try to reach the managment they are never around. They obviously don't care about the service of this hotel. This hotel is not worth the $$$. Very disappointed. Stay at your own risk .

WORST HOTEL EVER - do NOT stay here

Rating: 2

I was there two weeks ago and my room was broken into. I filed a police report and the GM of the hotel refuses to get back to me, have not watched the video tapes (that are aimed directly at my room) and overall do not care and are completely unhelpful. No one returns calls - this is easily the worst experience I've ever had. Someone else posted a separate review saying they were robbed, as well, so I really would recommend that you stay anywhere but here.

Worst Customer Service

Rating: 2

I don't know where to begin with this place. They try really hard to be a "boutique Hotel" but fall so far off the scale. The workers not only are difficult to understand with the language barrier but are not helpful at all. I had items stolen from my room and it took them 2 days to give me an answer on whether my items were found. They cover up for their dishonest housekeepers. I don't recommend this place at all!!!!

great fun

Rating: 10

spent 2 nights here and loved it. lots going on. fun lobby bar, great rooftop jacuzzi, stocked mini-bar, nice cd player, bathroom is roomy. so much for so little. we got free tix for clubs, free drinks at happy hour, free breakfast. and the front desk was cheery and helpful. we had a quiet room on the 3rd floor facing the street and it was nice and quiet. fun and relaxing. great place to visit while in sobe.

RUN As Fast As You Can From the Creepy Crawlies!

Rating: 8

When we arrived to this dump,we were disappointed w/the sleazy atmosphere. We'd never been to South Beach & figured maybe we needed to get used to the art deco scene. We went up to our room, through the dark dungeon of a hallway,to find a small, uninviting room overlooking an alley. We immediately took the comforter offwhich was absolutely filthy & full of stains. We noticed the bed was made, but sheets were not clean. There was sand, hair, and a cigarette hole in them.We left for the beach & complained on the way out. When we got back, nothing had been done+we were greeted by a live b_g crawling in the middle of the bed.We complained again-nothing.Since it was a holiday weekend & we may not get another room,we grabbed sheets from the hall closet, & left to buy disinfectant & trash bags to put down between the mattress & sheets.Last straw was when we came back, stripped the bed of everything & found several bed b_gs (dead & alive) on the mattress. We left with our unpacked bags in the middle of the night.Luckily, we were able to find another room (& it wasnt raining like next night)at about 3 AM for 1 night.Next day,we went back to the Chesterfield & were offered a great place at another one of their upscale South Beach Group hotels. We were apprehensive, but checked it out.We had to speak to the manager before taking it & since she wasnt in until noon,we stayed put.At 11:30 AM we got a call asking if we wanted the room b/c someone else needed it.We said we did,ran to speak to manager, only to have her tell us the room had been given awayfive minutes after we hung up.We spent two out of our five day vacation searching for other accommodations & moving around in extremely humid weather.Did I mention our toilet didnt work? This is the most unprofessional & disgusting place.Still having nightmares.Ruined our vacation, dont let them ruin yours.

Hotel with it all

Rating: 10

They've got location, clean rooms, courteous staff, good prices, fun happy hour and free breakfast. Right in the center of SouthBeach. It's a great weekday getaway for locals. Or spend a weekend if you're from out of town. You'll be very happy you did. all the employees give their best.

Customer Service Without the Service

Rating: 6

Whe I checked in the room was warm so I asked that maintenance take a look at the unit. The guy held his hand 3 inches from the vent told me it was working fine although I was sweating. I'm sure that CHECKING the unit meant more than holding a hand over it. The front desk said there was nothing they could do since all the South Beach Group hotels were sold out. After complaining all weekend with no work done on the unit and the last day of my stay, the front dest attendant lied and said again that there were no rooms until I told her how many days we had gone with out A/C. The manger nor any representative from South Beach Group hotels returned my phone call or email to address my complaint. If you are looking for quality and service this place it not it.

Wow. A year later and I am back. This is not only better than before. They have the same cool staff and they remember me like a best friend. The drinks are longer, that's awesome. This is still the coolest location on South Beach.

My heart stops and just thinks of how wonderful my mother's recent stay in South Beach ws. It is all do to the attention to service and detail the staff gave her and her friends for a girl's get away. They were in heaven, and I didn't worry about them at all. Tell every one.

COSMO, COSMO, COSMO!!

Rating: 10

I wanted a wild weekend getaway with my boyfriend. We booked the COSMOPOLITAN jacuzzi suite at the Chesterfield, and lets just say, I am rebuilding my house. They had chilled Champagne, rose petals, and bubbles all ready for us. The room faces famous Collins Avenue and is all open with cool glass dividers. Very Contemporary. Everyone should try it! I got what I wanted, WILD! and lots of fun.

toilet is exposed in room like prison

Rating: 2

Room cost $240 and there was no wall separating bathroom from rest of hotel room (302). Exposed toilet in the room and when I checked out, almost immediately, they charged me for the second night because of 72 hour noticification rule. I arrived at 4 in the morning with my wife saw the toilet and decided to leave after sleeping for a couple of hours. I assumed they would get me for the first night even if I wallked out. So slept for a couple of hours and found another hotel and checked out of the Chesterfield at 10 am. They then informed me that i would have to pay for the 2nd night. By the way, around the corner was the Waldorf Towers, small friendly hotel with cool little bar and lobby and porch with tables right on Ocean Drive. They let me check in at 7am.

Comfortable Beds!

Rating: 10

We had a great time at the hotel. The beds were so comfortable! I enjoyed the shower, also. I did wonder why the corridors were so dark? But we'll definitely stay there again. Thanks for your hospitality and thanks for asking. Merry Christmas.

Pretty Cool

Rating: 10

We were actually down on business from Atlanta in Ft. Lauderdale and thought one night in Sobe would be fun. We had a terrific time and both of us remarked probably one of our best. We really enjoyed the decor in our room and thought the mirrored shower with concrete floor to be pretty cool. Oh, by-the-way, thanks for serving "real" coffee in the morning and the danish, very nice. Would love to make the Chesterfield a regular haunt.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond!!!

Rating: 10

This is the coolest place I have ever seen. And what awesome staff, they really got us hooked up at the clubs. The hotel, every detail has been hit. From historic to contempory modern. And fresh bread at breakfast, the butter just melted on top. The bathrooms felt like something out of Architecture Digest. And the beds have arms that just keep hugging you.

A four night stay:

Rating: 3

This is a funky little hotel, in a great location, but it's got some quirks about it as well. The good: It's in a perfect place, an easy walk to the beach or shopping. The free airport shuttle worked, and was there when we needed it. The beds are very comfortable, and the furnishings in the rooms are fairly high end. Hotel staff was friendly. The Bad: Some rooms back up to an alley. Our room was one of them. It was loud, in fact very loud, at 5am. We had a wakeup call come 1 hour and 10 minutes late, the day of our departure. The only reason given was "sorry, we're busy" The "industrial" bathroom design makes it impossible to shower without soaking the entire bathroom floor. One day housekeeping just forgot to clean our room. Another they cleaned it, but didn't leave any towels in the bathroom.

Spectacular!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 10

That is the only word I have to describe our stay at the Chesterfield. We wanted a great hotel in the middle of South Beach. After the first cold weather hit NY, we wanted to visit South Beach for the first time. We found the Chesterfield, and we could not have been happier. The treated us so nice, the staff is excellent. They even picked us up at the airport, all the way in Ft. Lauderdale for free. Love that!!!! See you soon.

I cannot stop talking about our stay The Chestefield, we had reserved a room at the Marriott, very disappointed for people wanting to hang out, people watch, and a have a great time. We stumbled accross The Chestefield, what a hidden Jewel! Great Location, excellent staff, they got us free into all the clubs we wanted, and those beds, soooooooo comfortable. Everyone just at least stop and check it out. At least to have a drink at the Safari Bar.

Wonderful Beds

Rating: 9

My friend and I both had the best night's sleep ever in your wonderful beds! And we loved the bathroom! The only mishap was at the airport... we were waiting at door 27 and the shuttle driver was at door 26, so we almost missed each other. Otherwise, it was a delightful stay. All of the staff were helpful and pleasant. We'd love to come back.

SoBetter Than Last Time!

Rating: 5

They must read the reviews on Citysearch, because this second stay was extremely better. Christian is a consistent favorite, as he always knows what to do to make a stay great. Demeanor of morning staff has improved greatly. THERE WAS ACTUALLY BREAKFAST THIS TIME! To early to tell if the Phantom of the Minibar will strike again, but will keep you posted on any fraudulent charges. Only sour note, AC in the room was busted, making nights (or mornings?) stuffy and sleepless. We'll be back a third time to see if this change is permanent...

I dinn't want to leave

Rating: 9

From the minute we arrived, I knew we made the right choice. Our entire weekend was made special by the Chesterfield. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is fun and personable, they took really good care of us, a couple of old girls from Cocoa. The night clubs treated us like movie stars. Can't wait to come back. We will never stay in a chain again.

My Stay at the Chesterfield has been sincerely pleasant on both of recent visits to South Beach. On both occasions we were treated with 1st class professional, efficient, & polite service. I look forward to returning later this year. P.S. Love the showers and the plush duvets. They are awesom. Great Job!

overrated

Rating: 5

Trusting excellent reviews on Quickbook.com, I booked six nights at the Chesterfield this June. The stay was extremely disappointing. A "continental breakfast" consisted of a loaf of white bread, a bowl of apples, a pitcher of orange juice, and a jar of frosted flakes for the entire hotel. When this was depleted, no refills were given. The "sundeck" was an asphalt rooftop equipped with three sogging wet matresses. The $18 per day valet parking took 20-30 minutes to bring the car each time. After my return home, my credit card statement bears charges for the minibar, which we never used. A call to the South Beach Group accounting office was met with a voice mail, which has yet to be returned. I'd advise against a stay.
