Two words, bed bugs.
We stayed here a couple of nights, and rented two rooms. My little sisters shared a bed/blankets and woke up with clustered, itchy bug bites. At the time we didn't assume they were from the hotel, but the next couple mornings they woke up with more. Whether it was fleas or bed bugs or some other biting insect, it was DEFINITELY from the hotel. It seems there are some semi-permanent residents there that were very sketchy/borderline alarming. The walls were super thin, we stayed on the second floor and we could hear every person that walked by as if they were an LA helicopter. The staff was nice, cordial, and at times very helpful, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I would've given them two stars but they lose a star for having all these fake CitySearch five star reviews. That's despicable in my book.

A good choice for comfortable stay in San Diego
After reading some positive reviews on the net, I chose to stay at the California Suites Hotel in San Diego. But frankly, I was a little sceptical. But once I checked in, I found that the reviews were true. The hotel indeed is a good choice for staying in San Diego. The rooms are clean and have everything one needs for a comfortable stay. The pool is great. Besides, it?s close to the airport, all the great tourist spots and the beaches. And need I mention the superb breakfast! All said, a great place to stay without spending a fortune.
Nice hotel with a great location
I booked California Suites Hotel by reading some good reviews about it on the net. Frankly, for the money it cost me, the services were excellent. My room was clean and comfortable, the view from the window was fantastic, the free breakfast was great and the large swimming pool was a nice surprise. I would say it is one of the best budget hotels that I have ever stayed in.
A good economical hotel
I stayed at the California Suites Hotel with a friend during our last holiday in San Diego. The room in which we stayed was great and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was a clean, well located, nicely staffed hotel with splendid view. Usually in the evening, we used to sip some champagne after a good swim in the big pool. And as far as price is concerned it was in fact quite economical.
Worth staying for extended period
Since I had relocated to San Diego for my new job, I stayed at California Suites Hotel for over a couple of months. The best part about the hotel was its home like ambience and my well equipped room which had everything I needed. There was a fast Internet connection, voice mail, a microwave, a mini-fridge, phone, etc. Besides, the rates were affordable and did include some other services such as a weekly maid service and some great breakfast. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was located near to my new workplace. For an extended stay package, it was good value for money.
Comfortable Hotel at a Prime Location
We stayed at California Suites Hotel for two weeks on our San Diego vacation. We chose this hotel for its location ? its right in the heart of San Diego from where commuting was easy and convenient. I would describe the hotel as comfortable, not luxurious but with a home like ambience. Its pleasant and quiet. The staff was welcoming, the food great, and the warm swimming pool was a nice place for a refreshing swim. Good value for money, must say.
Professional staff and great discounts
I had a limited budget and was looking for a decent place to stay. My brother suggested California Suites Hotel and I booked the room purely on his recommendation. But I must say I was surprised at the level of professionalism shown by the hotel staff. They were quite responsive, acted to any query fast and at the same time very friendly. Moreover I also got 15% off on my 2 night stay there. On the whole it was a good, comfortable stay.
Charming hotel with beautiful surroundings
I was looking for a quiet place in San Diego where I could stay in peace and which is nearby to Old Town. Thankfully, California Suites Hotel suited me fine. It is a quaint hotel with beautiful flowers and plants all around its lush gardens. The setting is peaceful, a pleasant change from the busy humdrum of Roswell city. Probably next year by January I might come again to roam in the streets of Old Town and stay in this beautiful hotel.
Amicable staff and convenient location
This was the first time me and my sister had gone to San Diego. After researching on the net, I finally zeroed in on California Suites Hotel. The best thing about the hotel was its amicable and friendly staff. Sea World and Zoo were the only places that we planned to visit but on the suggestion of the staff, we also visited Old Town, La Jolla etc. and had a gala time there. As the hotel was located near most of the major landmarks, we found it quite easy to commute on our own. We are planning to come over again to usher in the New Year in San Diego. And California Suites Hotel would definitely be our first stay choice to stay. The hotel is quite safe and secure for girls and families.
Great hotel for budget traveller
Thanks to California Suites Hotel, I managed to have a wonderful vacation within a limited budget. I got 30% off on my four night stay there. Moreover the breakfast was complementary too. So I saved on that part too. The hotel is great for a budget traveller like me. But mind you there were no compromises on their services. The services were at par with any luxury hotel. I might come again here to celebrate New Year?s Eve in San Diego and take advantage of the discounts which are on offer till Dec 31.
Rejuvenating and pleasant experience
Since I was on a business trip, I couldn?t manage to tour San Diego much except see the Sea World and make a few brief visits to the beach. But staying in California Suites Hotel was rejuvenating. The green lawns and colorful plants and flowers let me unwind and take a much needed quiet break, away from the hustle bustle of New York. I am planning to come over to San Diego again but this time with my family. I am sure my wife and kids would love to stay in this lovely hotel.
Suitably located hotel for entire family
We chose California Suites Hotel for our family vacation primarily because of its convenient location. But then we found that the hotel had much more to offer really. The kids had a great time on the lawns and in the pool. Bill, my husband was relieved to be able to check his mails and communicate with his office through the internet connection the hotel provided. And yes, the Sea World and Zoo and the beaches were just a few minutes away so we could take the kids there easily without wasting time travelling. All in all, a good experience. We are planning a family vacation to San Diego in December again, and I would definitely prefer staying here.
Fun stay at California Suites Hotel
California Suites Hotel was a pleasant experience. I enjoyed myself thoroughly during my four day stay at the hotel. Apart from the cool, relaxing ambience, the food was a high point. The breakfast came free and that was an added benefit. To top it all, I got a 30% discount on my 4-day stay. The more the better!

Healthy, homely atmosphere at California Suites Hotel
It was a home like atmosphere in the California Suites Hotel. Since my son Rex is 8 year old, his stay in the hotel was free of cost. After touring San Diego all day, Rex was happy playing around in the warm swimming pool. That kept him busy and away from pranks! The staff members are really good with the kids. I would recommend this hotel to any family looking for a home like environment.
Good services and all reasonably priced
It was nice staying at California Suites Hotel. I can?t afford a five star hotel but this hotel was more than what I expected from a budget hotel. The rates were good, the services were prompt and satisfactory. My room was not swanky but it had all the amenities to make my stay comfortable. And since I had booked when their discount offers were on, I got a 20% off on my four day stay. The breakfast was complementary too so that was more money saved. This hotel will be my first choice whenever I visit San Diego again.
Overall pleasant experience
?Fantastic? is the right word to describe my stay at the California Suites Hotel. The complementary breakfast provided was healthy and delicious. I am a bit of a fitness freak and I loved the juices and the fresh fruits they served in the morning. No oily stuff, mercifully! And a swim in the large warm pool was always refreshing. Overall a fine experience and that too at budget prices. So I am planning to come over here again around Christmas.
Good hospitable hotel staff
I have been working in the hospitality industry for the last two years. For me, generosity and the positive attitude of the hotel staff matters more than the location, design or furniture. I must say, I am quite impressed with the hospitality and sense of caring displayed by the staff of California Suites Hotel. Their prompt response to the needs of the guests is worth appreciating. Whether I wanted an extra towel or hot water in the night, I didn?t have to ask twice. Next time when I come to San Diego, undoubtedly I would like to stay here only.
A rejuvenating experience at California Suites Hotel
My insurance job is so taxing that I hardly get time to relax. But in the calm environment of the California Suites Hotel, I could relax and connect with myself. The whole setting of the hotel was peaceful with beautiful tropical flowers and so much greenery all around to cheer me up. In fact, I spent most of the time in the hotel relaxing in the green surroundings or lazing around in the warm swimming pool. My room was well furnished with everything I would need to make myself feel comfortable. The pleasant experience has made me want to come over here again soon.
Awesome Place to Stay for Vacation
I had a great time in San Diego last month. And what added to the whole experience was my stay at the California Suites Hotel. In one word, I would say that the hotel was amazing. I am a foodie. So I loved the delicious breakfast the hotel provided and that too for free. The mouth-watering buffet had everything from cereals, fresh fruits, fruit spreads, Danish, muffins, bagels, juices, espresso, bread, cream cheese, and most importantly my favorite hot chocolate. Honestly, I ate so much there that I must have gained some extra pounds. Apart from food, I loved swimming in the large pool. Awesome time. I am looking forward to staying here again.
Friendly Staff and Spotlessly Clean Hotel
I fully enjoyed my stay at the California Suites Hotel. It didn?t have fancy furnishings or any such thing but the lobby and the rooms were immaculately clean and gardens were beautifully maintained. That is what I found best in this hotel. Nothing very extravagant but very clean. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. Every morning, without delay the rooms were cleaned. And the surroundings and the tropical flowers made my stay in the hotel even more beautiful. All in all, a good pleasant experience.
Extremely Helpful Staff and Good Ambience
I had gone to San Diego for a business trip and made my reservations in California Suites Hotel for just a couple of days stay. However, it turned out to be a unique experience which I haven?t had before in my rigorous sales career. When I reached the hotel, I found my jet lag had got worse and I had developed high fever. But the hotel staff made me feel completely at home. They arranged for a doctor and brought the medicines even though it was quite late in the night. I was frankly amazed at this hospitality and concern. These are little things that actually denote how sincere a hotel is towards making its guests feel comfortable.

I have stayed at California Suites Hotel several times over the last few years and have always liked it. The hotel has a friendly staff, a great location with plenty of restaurants, theaters, and shopping centers within walking distance and just a stone?s throw away from all the major tourist spots. The rooms are fully furnished with comfortable beds and other necessary stuff one needs for oneself, such as internet, voice mail, etc. And the best part is their wonderful breakfast buffet, which comes free! There are three things that I always look for while booking hotels -location, facilities and pricing. And California Suites Hotel had all the things to make my stay in San Diego comfortable. With a fantastic front view, the room was quite modern and well furnished with all the necessary first-class facilities like internet, voice mail, microwave, and refrigerator. The biggest advantage of the hotel is the close proximity to all the important places like the San Diego airport, Zoo, Sea World, shopping centers etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in San Diego.

When I went to attend a meeting in San Diego in May, I stayed at the California Suites Hotel for two days. The hotel was located near to everything I needed to visit, the San Diego airport, the venue of the meeting and the beaches where I would take an evening stroll to unwind. I found the staff very friendly and when I requested for a wake-up call, they responded every time. The complimentary breakfast, the internet and voice mail in my room, and the location of the hotel made my trip easier for me. I would surely love to stay here in my next visits.

I decided to stay at California Suites Hotel as my sister and her husband recommended it. They had stayed here during their vacation in San Diego last year. I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful location of the hotel and the fast services it provided. My room was nicely sized, clean and very tastefully decorated. It had a beautiful view. My wife and I liked the prompt services and the hospitality extended to us by the staff. Our room was comfortable and clean. The free breakfast buffet was delicious and more than sufficient to keep us energized the whole day. Popular food joints and the major tourist spots such as Zoo, beaches, Sea world etc. were just a stone?s throw away from the hotel. All in all, it was a great experience staying here at California Suites Hotel.

Due to its convenient location, right in the heart of San Diego, I must say that staying at California Suites Hotel added to my memorable experience in the city. All the key attractions such as Zoo, Sea World, superb beaches etc. were a few minutes away from the hotel. Must say the overall set-up of the hotel was simply above my expectations, considering its budget prices.
