Absolutely Horrible Hotel

Rating: 2

The beds seemed ancient, there was noise coming from every angle of the hotel from the street below. When I complained to the Owner, He offered to let me stay in there resort area for an additional 300 bucks a night!!! The hotel is completely run down, the staff is horrible, and have bad attitudes, all your paying for is being near the beach, but honestly, for this price point, you could stay at a motel 8 and get a better quality stay. Bathrooms are ancient, Beds are ancient, the 11 inch tv's are rediculous. there was a wedding in the hotel one of the nights i stayed there, tons of people crowding the hotels bar and restaurant alllll night. being loud, and drunk. I would NEVER stay here ever again. EVER.

Balboa Inn Hotel - Great for business & pleasure

Rating: 10

My business partner and I stay at the Balboa Inn Hotel several times each year while consulting for nearby clients. We heard about this great Newport Beach oceanfront hotel from a client and decided to try it. In the past, we have stayed at other Orange County hotels. We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at this historic hotel for the first time. Our business keeps us on the road over 65% of the year, and we usually stay at a chain hotel since it is easy and you normally know what you are getting. Since we stay for at least one week during each trip, we appreciate that they have larger rooms with living areas and a refrigerator. The rooms are clean, well-kept and have a nice old world charm. There is a small daily fee for the wireless internet access, but it is well worth it. Where else can you work while overlooking the ocean from a 2nd floor outdoor patio? We never have to go far to when entertaining our client?s as the hotel has a wonderful on-site Italian restaurant Siena. The chef is wonderful as it the entire staff?they are all friendly and genuine. I am so glad that we found the Balboa Inn Hotel, and will continue to return for business and pleasure!
