Decent Hotel, Decent service
I was on my way to Los Angeles with few colleagues. One of them had to visit a relative in SF. So we had the opportunity of staying at Argonaut Hotel. It was a good experience. The service was great. The staff was really caring and it was very easy to find a cab. Now whenever I will have to stay at SF, Argonaut would be the place.
Very noisy (thin-walls)
The location is great. Tacky nautical theme is cute. Everything looked clean. And then we went to bed and we discovered the walls are paper thin, you WON'T sleep. We could hear the neighbors' TV on the whole night (and they didn't have it on loud), we could hear the showers running, toilets flushing, people talking in the hall. Worst ever, we did not sleep one bit. Way to expensive considering. And I woke up with a rash on my arms.
Can you say nautical
Good amenities but overboard with the nautical theme. They do have a wine hour each evening where you can socialize with other guest. The co...

Solid and Notable
I stayed here in a room overlooking the bay with a wonderful king sized bed. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had a nautical theme that I found kind of cute, though unimportant. The over all customer service experience was most excellent and the adjacent restaurant has tasty, good food that's well prepared...especially the breakfast. I loved the omelets, as well as their lunch time seafood offerings. Be aware that this hotel is, more or less, RIGHT in the whole Fisherman Wharf tourist trap mess and there are lots of people as you open the door into and out of the hotel (which was kind of irritating). However, its great location takes you to all the bay destinations in a real hurry. I could even see the Golden Gate Bridge at all times! Now, that's cool. If you don't mind the crowds, then stay here. They are owned by the Klimpton Group and, like their other hotels, is a class operation.
