Decadant quarters and a lesson in art history!
As B & B's go, and they are my personal preference of hotel, this one provides a rich variety of old world thematic decor - comfortable plush bedding and large jet bathtub complete- and silver platter service...Its pricey but worth it. Great get-away if you can't get-away from Sac.
Amber house
My wife and I have spent about five very special nights at Amber house. This has been one of our favorite places to go to spend time together. The staff is great! The cookies at night are great but, the breakfast in the mourning is fantastic. Don't take the Emily Dickinson room, that is are favorite.
Lounge away
My fiance and I have stayed here a couple times now...in the Chaucer room and Lord Byron room. They are unbelievable. Quaint, elegantly-appointed, and charming. They recently added 3 new rooms, so we're anticipating returning soon. We live in Granite Bay, only a half hour from the hotel, but it's a great way to escape the house for a night. I recommend to anyone. Jacuzzi tub is a big plus, too...and relax in the swing on the front porch.
