Great dog hotel
I want to live here!
I had the biggest smile on when I walked into my room at the Alexis. It was sooo adorable. Like something out of a doll-house. A really cool, funky, doll-house! Oversized headboards and couches with lots of colorful funky pillows. And the art that is hanging on all the walls and corredors--so cool! It's like visiting an art gallery for free! The location was pretty good, walking distance to the market, etc. Price was fair too..only complaint is I got in really late, was hungry and wanted room service. But their late-night menu was not very appealing at all. They need to add more options. Other than that...I wish I lived at the Alexis...

My wife and I stayed here for a little "stay-cation" and had a beautiful time, we used the 15% OFF coupon attached with citysearch and enjoyed both the location, and all the amenities. I'd recommend for a nice place, in a great location

Romantic Getaway Best
I stayed at the Alexis in January for a romantic weekend with my very hot boyfriend. They didn't have our room ready, so they bought us drinks in the Library Bar until they did! The bartender was great that day and the cocktails led to ........The second day, he (the bartender, silly) was L*O*A*D*E*D beyond belief but was still functional. Such is the charm of Seattle. The room was impeccable. The view was georgeous. I loved the art...you'd have to be a narrow-minded bigot not to. The staff were so great. The bed was, well, worth the trip. Go. Enjoy.
Best Service in any hotel I have every stayed
Spent 9 nights at Alexis and had the greatest service I have ever had. Staff is amazing in the response time to a request, great with tips on where the locals eat, shop and what to do in the city. Hotel caters to any whim you may have and was available for you 24/7. Would not even consider staying anywhere but here when traveling to Seattle. Nice size rooms. clean was an understatement and the staff is best in any class.

Located on first avenue and very artsy this place is a world class hotel. The hotel staff is A+ and the rooms are awsome. If you can stay a ...
experience varies
Because we live 1 block away, we have put up most of our guests at the Alexis. Their reactions vary to loving it to being disgruntled. This applies to room decoration, noise and service! Comments are: some rooms are hideously decorated ie. pop art. One couple said the service was bad the whole stay, housekeeping took away personal items and then they could not be found. No apologies/compensation offered. Lastly the noise. When I make reservations, I do not find the staff helpful. Figure that! More recently because of the mixed reactions and my own difficulties, I have been booking my guests at Inn at the Harbor Steps. There it is perhaps a bit more homespun. But they bill themselves as an inn, not a full-service hotel.
Romantic and Pet Friendly Too
My partner and I just returned from a stay at the Alexis. We chose the hotel because of its dog-friendly policies. Then I read the negative reviews here and started to have second thoughts. I'm glad I put those thoughts to rest because we had a wonderful time. Check in was friendly and smooth; the staff accommodated our request for a quiet room. Our room was large and very comfortable. The service overall was prompt, friendly, and thorough. They even walked our pup while we were out. Considering the pet policies, I felt the hotel was a reasonable value. We are looking forward to returning.
Quiet elegance,superior service
My Husband and I were coming into town to celebrate an anniversary. Fromt eh moment of reservation throughuntil we left the experience offered at the Alexis Hotel was remarkable. Our anniversary was recognized, our every request met with speed and sincere caring that our experience be one of excellance. I cannot say enough!
Not so Fantastic
What an old and dusty hotel. The room are very outdated with terrible views. Staff had trouble from finding our car to checking us out. With so many good hotels within walking distance from the Alexis you would think they would start improving.
Very disappointing
As I have never been to Seattle, I wanted my first visit to be memorable. Unfortunately, it was, but, for all the wrong reasons. The few people I spoke with at the front desk were rude and not at all accommodating. There were very high charges on my bill for requests from housekeeping. As a newcomer to the city, I inquired with the concierge about day trips, spas and restaurants and he was clueless. Furthermore, the format of the rooms is very odd. One has to walk around to the other side of the room to use the bathroom. The 2 bedroom suite has one room behind the other which was very bizarre. I really wished I could have reported a much better review, and most importantly, I wished my stay was more pleasant and the staff far more accommodating.
a gem
We, too, were married at the Alexis on New Year's Eve a number of years ago. We choose to have our wedding reception there (and to go back for several anniversaries etc) because of its romantic feel, amazing service, great location to downtown, galleries and the market. It has never disappointed us and we recommend it to our out of town guests. It is a little gem in a city of big boring hotels.
