New Views From Vila on Vanuatu

There's a newcomer to the hotel game on the dreamy South Pacific island of Vanuatu. Late last week, the Sebel Vanuatu opened up overlooking Vila Harbour in the island's capital, Port Vila. They've built it up to six storeys high but made sure that each of the 74 rooms has views over the water, and they all have a private balcony too. They even have a window (instead of a wall) between the bathroom and the main guestroom, so that you can still enjoy the sea views while you're in the shower.

If you check up on the prices, you'll have a small heart attack before realizing that rates like $43,200 per night are actually being published in Vanuatu vatu, the local currency, and this translates to a Harborview Suite for about $430. Included in the rate is access to the facilities of the Iririki Resort across the road, which means you can stay in the relatively small Sebel but enjoy Iririki's beaches, spas and restaurants.
