It's a nice hotel, especially for Papeete, but....

I certainly wouldn't recommend it for a Tahiti vacation.  Only as a stop.

Tahiti and its city Papeete are just okay.  I can't suggest visitors spend time there.  By comparison, this is not Honolulu, which it of itself an interesting destination.  In French Polynesia, I suggest getting to one of the neighbor islands as quickly as possible.  

Having said that, I've enjoyed time (very recently) in Papeete.  But I think I'm the out man out, and most people would do better just to move on.
