Inside the Kosciuszko National Park (FYI, Mt Kosciuszko is Australia's highest mountain) you can find the Ski Rider Hotel which, as the name suggests, is a really convenient place to stay if you want to go skiing. The Perisher Blue ski resort is about 6 miles away, and there are 50 ski lifts in operation in the area. Get there with their free shuttle bus, which operates all day.

When the skiing's done, you can get a double room or a suite to sleep up to 6 people; it gets really affordable if you're with a family or a group, because you can pay for the first two people in your group and the rest only need to pay the meal costs. Breakfast and three-course dinners are included in their dining room, and there is also a Bistro on site.

The Ski Rider Hotel can also set you up with ski equipment and clothing hire and basically anything else you need for a ski holiday. Ski season is in full swing in Oz right now so book early.
