It may not be Kelly Wearstler's favorite hotel, but the Viceroy Anguilla can hold its own in the high roller department, thanks very much.

A new program at the resort is covering guests flights--to the tune of $6,000. Of course, that doesn't mean you and 10 friends can fly coach and stay in the cheapest room category. This insane hotel package is reserved for guests who book one of Viceroy Anguilla's four-bedroom villas.

The Spa

We've got the Caribbean on our mind this week, and now we've heard about this final phase of prettying-up down at the Viceroy Anguilla we've found the next object of our Caribbean-craving daydreams.

As we mentioned recently, the honeymoon-spot of choice for Kerr-Bloom was recently sold to Starwood Capital but will remain a Viceroy, with all the sophisticated design and service that entails.

Starwood Capital has snagged itself a now-finished Viceroy, to boot: the third and final phase of work on the property has added two new restaurants, two new pools, additional rooms, beach access, meeting rooms, and the Spa at Viceroy Anguilla.

The Viceroy Anguilla to Remain The Viceroy Anguilla

Yesterday we reported that the Viceroy Anguilla had been sold to Starwood Capital which had us concerned for the future of the Viceroy brand. Even though Viceroy Hotel Group is primarily a management company, nothing is for certain when a sale is involved.

However, the hotel's reps have assured us today that the Viceroy will remain a Viceroy.

Citibank has recently marketed for sale the loan secured by the Viceroy Anguilla. While the ownership of that loan may change hands, Viceroy Hotel Group’s management of Viceroy Anguilla as part of its Viceroy Hotels & Resorts brand remains unchanged.

Phew. That's good to know. Of course, these things can always change again in the future and we'll do our best to keep you updated.

Got the goss on what's happening with Viceroy Anguilla? Slip it to us!

On the heels of celebrity newlywed guests, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, comes stunning news that The Viceroy Anguilla has been sold. Even worse, it may no longer be a Viceroy Hotel.

The Daily Herald, a small island publication, reports that the hotel, which only opened last December, has been sold to Starwood Capital, ole' Barry Sternlicht's company. (Remember, Starwood Capital is different from Starwood Hotels.)

As it turns out the previous owners of Viceroy Anguilla (that would be Viceroy and their partner, the Mubadala Development Company) had not completed its loan payments, forcing Citibank to come in and take over the property. It was Citibank who completed the sale of $500 million to Starwood Capital.

In case you hadn't heard the devastating happy news: Orlando Bloom is now a married man. He quietly wed his Victoria's Secret model squeeze Miranda Kerr a week or so ago. Details are hazy, but we do know that the pair spent some quality time together at the Viceroy Anguilla last week. (Looks like someone took HotelChatter's Caribbean Guide recommendation to heart.)

People magazine tells us that Kerr was there for a VS shoot but was joined by Bloom in a super-swish villa.
