NYLO Warwick -- the second property in the new NYLO chain, whose first-born is in Plano, Texas -- opened up September 2nd with a look that was bluer and more "Rhode Island" than its Texas counterpart.

And after just under two weeks of being open, the property already has a dozen reviews on TripAdvisor -- and they're all absolutely glowing. No joke.

ICOH describes it best:

The new NYLO in Warwick, RI is like finding a really good book. The "cover" catches your eye on the shelf, so to speak -- meaning that the exterior of the hotel is a wonderfully restored new england mill (part of the Pontiac Mill complex) that you just have to admire and want to dive into - and then the "story" (your stay) immerses you in a fun and refreshing experience!

NYLO Warwick, the long-awaited younger Northern brother of NYLO Plano, is now open in Warwick, Rhode Island.

It's new! It's blue! It's NYLO!

We just got off the phone with the hotel, whose grand opening extravaganza is going on -- and from what we could hear in the background, the lobby sounds hip and happening today. And there actually may still be space for the hotel's very first official evening open: according to the staffer we talked to, there is still a bit of availability for tonight, with rates starting around $119. Give them a call and check it out -- or just stop by for a drink if you're in the area.

In the meantime, Flickr user Square the A posted a set of pics that gave us a sneak pic of NYLO Warwick, which looks a bit like Alice in Wonderland meets Willy Wonka's Violet (meets NYLO, of course). One more after the jump!

At last we have a (soft) opening date for the second NYLO Hotel. NYLO Warwick in Rhode Island will be opening on September 2nd. The grand opening will follow on September 18th.

The Warwick property will be a little different in terms of vibe than its Texan sister.

With New England¹s rivers and bays as its muse, this NYLO has a witty vibe that celebrates its locale. The bar takes design inspiration from fish gills. In the restaurant, chandeliers recall dry sea coral, and tables have Plexiglas tops with embedded sea sponges.

In fact, NYLO is even calling this place Soho-by-the-Sea. Kinda cute. We likey. We also likey the prices. Introductory rates are low at $89 a night on weekends and $119 a night during the week.

NYLO's second property in Warwick, Rhode Island is finally taking reservations. The hotel is set to open sometime in early August although an exact date is not yet known.

Guests looking to hit up NYLO are encouraged to make reservations for September and beyond by calling NYLO Hotels at 1.866.391.NYLO (No website booking avail yet.)

Here's the official description of the newest NYLO on the block:

It houses 163 guestrooms, called guest lofts, and more than 1,450 square feet of meeting and event space.

Each guest loft has 300 square feet of bright, airy living space, with 10-foot-plus ceilings, exposed brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows. The property offers a Pure Floor with allergy-friendly guest lofts.

Its signature ultra-social living area, The Loft, features a hip atmosphere, eclectic menu and local musicians.  A 3,000-square-foot terrace also provides outdoor dining and entertainment.

As for the location, it's not exactly in a major metropolis but it is close to the TF Green International Airport, historic Pontiac Mills and local "business parks", making it a hip pick for the modern traveling salesman. Room rates will start around $115 a night.

Three masked grinches hit Warwick hotel

Christmas at a UK Holiday Inn Express went sour when a pre-Christmas heist left them over £500 lighter.

At 4.20pm on Thursday, three masked men busted into the office, pushed the manager to the floor, and made her open the hotel safe. They made off with £500 as well as a purse and the cash from the register at the front desk. Brrrr.

We thought we'd post some hotel safety tips -- just to be on the safe side.
