Travis AFB Travel Guide
Room with a view of the barracks, wake to Taps at dawn, dress in casual military fatigue. The US Government has gone into the hotel biz.
The West Wing opened The Westwind Inn on Thursday at Travis Air Force Base in the Bay Area so government travelers can stay on the base. Happily our tax dollars are going into state-of-the-art hotels versus spending "ten-million dollars a year lodging guests in the cities of Vacaville and Fairfield."
This $35 million, 350 room hotel is only the third of its kind in the Air Force.
There is even a spa! More incentive to join the Air Force.
You gotta be in fatigue, know some one in fatigue, or just be cool with fatigue. Rates are ridiculously cheap from $26.75 a night. Hey SF on Budget, for a cheap time in the Bay Area, maybe you oughta' get your wings.
