Malay Beach Hideout

Where: Terengganu, Malaysia

Tanjong Jara Resort is a traditional Malay style property away from the polluted and congested city life situated on the east coast of Malaysia.

The design of this Resort has its roots in the well crafted wooden palaces of Malay sultans.

Macaque monkeys are everywhere, there is a nice beach on-site, Gamelan music is played nightly, and families in particular seem to enjoy this place.

This is not a new resort, in fact it has been around since 1979, however, this 100 room resort has aged well, for them most part.

The resort will organize dive excursions for adventurous guests.

Hint:  Try to get an upstairs room.  These rooms have clear views of the beach and tend to be quieter than the lower views.
